You’ve probably mixed and slung thousands of Cuban classics in your bar, but now it’s time to pay tribute to the island with your very own creation: the Havana Club Cocktail Grand Prix 2018 is officially open to bartenders in over 40 countries – China included.
哈瓦纳俱乐部鸡尾酒大奖赛创办于1996年,每两年举办一次,是国际上历史最悠久、最负声望的调酒赛事之一。今年的主题是“现代古巴”:参赛选手需要以古巴的调酒技艺、本土原料、鸡尾酒结构和灿烂文化为灵感,创作一款创意独到、制作简单、易于推广、现代感十足的鸡尾酒。
Launched in 1996, the bi-annual event is one of the oldest and most revered cocktail competitions in the world. This year’s theme is “Cuba Moderna”: participants must create a modern cocktail that is original, easy to make and replicable, drawing inspiration from Cuban bartending techniques, use of ingredients, drink structure and cultural pride.
3月5日到16日,中国区域选拔赛将在四个分赛场——上海、北京、成都和广州——展开角逐。每个赛区将选出两名获胜者参加4月15日的全国决赛,最后胜出的调酒师将加冕冠军,并代表中国出战5月28日到6月2日在哈瓦那举办的全球总决赛。全球总冠军则将赢得终极大奖:除了一樽以哈瓦那标志性雕塑Giraldilla为原型的金奖杯和一瓶哈瓦纳俱乐部马西莫至尊朗姆酒,他还将获得哈瓦纳俱乐部赞助的20000欧元启动资金,用于和品牌合作推出自己的朗姆酒项目。
The regionals in China will be hosted in four cities – Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu and Guangzhou – from March 5 to 16. Two winners will be selected from each region to compete in the national final on April 15, with one bartender then chosen as the national winner to represent China in the global finals in Havana from May 28 to June 2. The international champion will receive the magnificent golden Giraldilla trophy, a bottle of Havana Club Maximo Extra Anejo and a budget of 20,000 EUR from Havana Club to activate his or her very own rum project in collaboration with the brand.

You need to look at the rules first:
* 基酒必须从以下几款朗姆酒中选择:哈瓦纳俱乐部3年、哈瓦纳俱乐部7年或哈瓦纳俱乐部大师臻选。
* 每款作品必须用到至少35毫升哈瓦纳俱乐部朗姆酒。
* 鼓励但不强制使用保乐力加旗下各个品牌的产品。
* 每款作品所用烈酒的总量没有限制。
* 参赛作品必须有一种原料做到一物两用(如橙子:橙汁和自制橙味苦精,或西柚:糖浆和西柚味苏打水)。
* 每款作品最多只能选用五种完整原料。糖浆、酊剂、酱料等自制原料需要在赛前提前准备好,所用原料种类数量不限,制作好的成品将被算作一种原料。
* 鸡尾酒作品不得以古巴或是其他任何国家的公众人物命名(如菲德尔·卡斯特罗大吉利、特朗普总统或海明威莫吉托等)。
* 报名者必须至少年满21周岁,并拥有三年调酒工作经验。
* The base spirit must be Havana Club Anejo 3 Anos, Havana Club Anejo 7 Anos or Havana Club Seleccion de Maestros.
* A minimum 35ml of Havana Club must be used in each cocktail.
* Use of Pernod Ricard brands is encouraged but not mandatory.
* There is no limitation on the total amount of alcohol included in each drink.
* Competitors must use one ingredient in their cocktail in two different ways (for example: orange – the juice and a homemade orange bitter; or grapefruit – a syrup and a grapefruit flavoured soda).
* There is a maximum limit of five complete ingredients used for each drink. Homemade ingredients prepared for service prior to the competition can contain an unlimited number of ingredients and will be counted as a single ingredient, such as syrups, tinctures and pastes.
* No cocktail shall ever be named after a public figure, whether they’re from Cuba or from any other country (such as Fidel Castro Daiquiri, El Trump Presidente or Hemingway Mojito).
* Participants must be 21 years old or above and have three years of experience working behind the bar.

Meet the 2016 Grand Prix winner
2016哈瓦纳俱乐部鸡尾酒大奖赛全球冠军得主是古巴本土调酒师Amaury Cepeda。他的夺冠作品以古巴人在1506年使用的第一台甘蔗榨汁机Cunyaya命名,在全球总决赛上击败了来自其他12个国家的选手, 一举把他送上了王者之位。
The Havana Club Cocktail Grand Prix 2016 went to Cuba’s very own Amaury Cepeda. His winning drink Cunyaya, named after the first cane milling machine used by the Cubans in 1506, helped him stand out among 13 top contenders in the global final.

5ml 蜂蜜
7.5ml 酸橙汁
60ml 新鲜甘蔗汁
45ml Havana Club 7
2ds Havana Club Essence of Cuba Island Fruit
5ml Honey
7.5ml Sour orange
60ml Fresh sugar cane juice
将所有原料混合,加冰饮用。用一截天然甘蔗和一个酸橙皮卷装饰。倒入陶杯,放在一个小托盘上,用一片烟叶装饰。
Mix all ingredients and serve over ice. Garnish with a stick of natural sugar cane and a sour orange spiral. Serve in a clay cup placed on a small plate decorated with a tobacco leaf.
