讲座简介

This talk presents a digital multimodal composing perspective towards computer supported language education during the current post pandemic era. Aligning with the tradition of the New Literacy Studies and multiliteracies, digital multimodal composing highlights the literacy aspect and refutes a deeply-entrenched technocentric orientation in computer supported language learning and teaching. To outline how the post-pandemic language education can be empowered by digital multimodal composing, this talk will present the definition of digital multimodal composing, theoretical underpinnings, and major findings of recent empirical studies. Methodological frameworks for implementing and evaluating digital multimodal composing projects will also be presented.

主讲人简介

Dr Lianjiang Jiang is an Assistant Professor at Faculty of Education, The University of Hong Kong. He used to be an Associate Professor at Jimei University and a postdoctoral fellow at University of Macau. His research interests include multimodality in computer supported second language writing and feedback. His publications have appeared in peer-reviewed international journals such as TESOL Quarterly, Journal of Second Language Writing, Computer Assisted Language Learning, Language Teaching Research, System, ELT Journal, Language, Culture and Curriculum, Educational Technology Research and Development, Technology, Pedagogy and Education, and others. He has authored one textbook and his online course in public speaking has been listed in the National First-class Courses by Ministry of Education, China. His research projects have been funded by the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong, Higher Education Fund of Macau, and Department of Education of Fujian.

主持人简介

陶坚上海财经大学外国语学院副教授，硕士生导师，国际应用语言学SSCI期刊System: An International Journal of Educational Technology and Applied Linguistics编委。近年来在SSCI及CSSCI期刊上发表论文十余篇，并获得2014-2020年上海市教育科学研究优秀成果奖二等奖、ESI高被引论文等。
