热搜沸了!这件事,优先中国人丨Overseas Chinese proud of vaccination policy

The topic "share a moment when you're moved to tears by your country" recently went viral online.

One response was from the online account "Leave-mealone", describing a recent incident that happened to her mother in Oman.

"My mother is based in Oman…for work reasons. She did not return to China during the outbreak. There are now about 3,000 Chinese working and living in the country all year round.

I was just talking to my mother, and she told me that she got her vaccine sent by the Chinese government."

There are around 3,000 Chinese people in Oman, and only less than 2,000 of them have not been vaccinated before leaving China. In order to ensure all Chinese citizens abroad can get vaccinated, China sent 100,000 doses directly to Oman — all the surplus doses donated to the Oman government, with one condition: the Chinese citizens must be prioritized in receiving these vaccines.

To express their sincere gratitude of the medical support from China, the Oman government sent out the best doctors in the country to vaccinate the Chinese citizens.

The post was then moved to Weibo, and it became one of the most searched topics within just an hour. Chinese netizens from all over the world including Thailand, Malaysia, Laos, Vietnam, Rwanda, Morocco, etc. started to share their proud and moving movements after receiving the Chinese vaccines.

The Chunmiao Action is a COVID-19 vaccination program launched by the Chinese government for its overseas citizens, which is responsible for actively providing either domestic or foreign vaccines for Chinese citizens currently located abroad.

On May 18, Chunmiao Action was successfully launched in Armenia. On the same day, nearly 100 Chinese citizens and their families in Armenia received the first dose of Chinese COVID-19 vaccine in the consular reception hall of the new embassy.

Chinese netizens in Ukraine also posted a video of the vaccination process on May 13.

"The entire process was incredibly organized."
"We feel so much at ease now."

According to the spokesperson's office of China's Foreign Ministry on June 10, more than 1.18 million overseas Chinese citizens have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in more than 150 countries.

As the number of vaccinated Chinese overseas citizens rapidly rises, many of them are sharing their thanks online.

The Chunmiao Action perfectly demonstrates Foreign Minister Wang Yi's words that "Diplomacy serves the people, and no one should be left behind; the epidemic will not retreat and neither will the diplomats."

Until now, more than 1.18 million overseas Chinese citizens have received Chinese vaccines as a result of the Chunmiao Action, and this is just the tip of an iceberg. According to data released by National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China, on June 20, China has become the first country in the world to distribute 1 billion doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, with 1.010489 billion doses administered by June 19.
