Due to the heavy rainfall, many parts of Delhi, including Indira Gandhi International Airport, faced a flood-like situation. Amid this potential crisis is a picture of people pushing an aircraft with the caption stating that, due to waterlogging, the passengers are pushing the aircraft at Delhi airport. ▲ Photo/CFP A Twitter user posted the photo with the caption, "Delhi IGI Airport waterlogged due to heavy thunderstorm in the National Capital." Another social media user wrote, "Passengers showing Delhi spirit at Delhi Airport". ▲ Photo/Twitter However, India Today Anti Fake News War Room (AWFA) found that the viral picture is not from Delhi airport. This picture, found using reverse image search, dates back to a news report published on Aug 14, 2007 and was captured at Yantai Airport in Shandong province, China where the airport workers were pushing a Shandong Airlines aircraft. ▲ Photo/CFP The 2007 report stated that the picture was taken at the Yantai Airport in Shandong province, China. The image shows more than 20 airport workers pushing Shandong Bombardier CRJ 200 away from the flooded runway to a safe area. The Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi was flooded due to heavy rain which lashed the national capital on Sept 11. The Delhi International Airport Limited said on Twitter that the situation lasted for a "short while".
