他们不聋不哑，却对周遭充耳不闻、视而不见。
他们被称为“星星的孩子”，或者“天真者”。
当拿起画笔，孤僻、有些举止怪异的他们却展现出一片纯净而生机勃勃的天地。
They are unable to communicate with parents and the world.
They are often called “children of the stars”, or “the innocent people”.
But with paint brushes in hand, they present a world of purity and vitality.
今天，是世界自闭症关注日，由联合国大会在2007年通过决议建立，提醒人们关注自闭症及其患者，以及相关的研究和诊断。
今年的主题是自闭症与2030年议程：包容和神经系统多样性。联大在去年9月通过了2030年可持续发展议程，其中包括多项旨涉及残障人士的具体发展目标。
因此今年的自闭症关注日旨在邀请大家思考如何实现这些目标、以使得自闭症患者及其家庭得到更好的社会支持。
The UN General Assembly recognized the second day of April as the World Autism Awareness Day in 2007, encouraging people to care for and support people with autism and their families.
The theme for this year is Autism and the 2030 Agenda: Inclusion and Neurodiversity, calling for more measures taken to improve the life of autistic people and realize promised goals concerning people with disabilities which are included in the new 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

这两个展览从第一个世界自闭症关注日就开始了，持续关注艺术如何帮着自闭症患者实现自我表达、和与父母、与这个世界的交流。
Painting is one important way for children with autism to express themselves and communicate with others. This can be shown at two exhibitions now in Beijing: Love under the Sky at the National Aquatics Center (Water Cube) and One Meter’s Distance at the Inside-Out Art Museum.
多年前我曾经采访过一些社会机构开办的针对自闭症患儿的培训课程。
印象最深的是那些孩子的父母，他们来自全国各地，放弃自己的工作和生活，每天陪着孩子进行重复性的、枯燥的练习，只为了实现一个简单的愿望：让孩子看着自己的眼睛，喊一声，爸爸，妈妈。

Many years ago I interviewed some non-profit organizations who provided training courses for children with autism. I was mostly impressed by these parents who came from across the country and had to leave their job behind for the sake of their children.
They were so sad and helpless when after days and weeks of training, their children made no progress at all. These children could even not able to look at their parents’ eyes and say, “Mom and dad”.
Sympathy is far from enough to help them. What they need is social tolerance and continuous, solid supports.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said,
“On this World Autism Awareness Day, I call for advancing the rights of individuals with autism and ensuring their full participation and inclusion as valued members of our diverse human family who can contribute to a future of dignity and opportunity for all.”
