从统计数据看都是哪些人、在哪里参加在线学习?


说明:这篇文章,话不多,亮点在数据。可与我国高等院校学生的在线学习相关统计数据对照着看。

 新发布的来自美国教育部高等教育数据信息系统的统计数据显示,美国高等院校的总入学人数保持稳定、变化不大,而在线教育的注册人数却在攀升。2016学年,高等院校至少注册参加了一门在线课程学习的学生人数在持续增长,高等院校参加在线学习的学生比例在持续提高。

 

哪些人参加了在线学习?

 

统计数据显示,在大多数层次和类型的高等教育机构中,参加在线学习的学生人数都在增长。在美国一流研究型大学中,至少参加一门远程教育课程的学生比例,从2014年的27.1%上升至2016年的30%,至少部分参加在线学习的学生完成课程的比例也由2014年的32.5%上升至2016年的36.6%。社区大学中,参加至少一门在线课程学习的学生比例相对较高,为30.9%,而在四年制公立大学中,这个数字为29%,四年制私立大学为25.6%。但在2016学年,参加至少一门在线课程学习的学生超过三分之二来自公立院校,而约有18%来私立非赢利院校,还有13%来自赢利机构。


2016学年,公立院校中参加至少一门在线课程学习的学生增长率最高,明显高于私立机构,这倒是近年来增长模式的一种新变化。

赢利型院校的学生参加远程学习的兴趣最大,在2016学年,有57.5%的人至少部分地参加了一门远程课程的学习。但赢利型院校参与在线学习的学生辍学率也非常高,2015年约为154万,2016年约为146万。

 

他们都在哪里注册参加在线学习?

 

统计结果显示,赢利型教育机构接收的在线学习注册人数,在教育机构排名中占主导地位,但相对人数却在下降, 2015年至2016年,凤凰城大学,美国公立大学系统和卡普兰大学的下降人数最显著,其中凤凰城大学减少的人数超过30万。


但并不是所有赢利型大学都遭遇了类似命运,如Grand Canyon University就增长了近25%, Walden, Capella 和Ashford等大学也在稳步发展。

 

在非赢利型私立教育机构中,最大的赢家当属Western Governors University 和 Arizona State University,而另一些,如LibertyUniversity和Baker College,入学人数则有明显下降。
