Beijing’s Mio Named Among the Best Italian Restaurants Globally

Kyle M. theBeijinger 2018-11-16

Beijing foodies are sure to be delighted by esteemed Italian restaurant guide Gambero Rosso’s recently released globe-spanning Top Italian Restaurants 2019 list. That’s because none other than Mio, an Italian fine dining haunt in the Four Seasons hotel, made the cut alongside some of the world’s most renowned pasta and pizza purveyors.

Nello Turco, Mio’s Napoli-born chef, says the news left him ecstatic because “Gambero Rosso is one of the most iconic guides in Italy, and they work really actively checking the best Italian restaurants in my country and in the world.”

He went on to add that Mio recently celebrated its fifth anniversary, and he has spent the past four years working there, making this milestone ranking a testament to the “consistency from my part and my team.”

We take high quality ingredients and shine a spotlight on them through modern techniques and original cooking.

When asked what qualities made Mio stand out from the competition, Turco chalked the restaurant’s success up to its modern take on Italian fare. He adds: “We take high quality ingredients and shine a spotlight on them through modern techniques and original cooking. This has always been my goal, to bring to the table a different and alternative  Italian experience.”

Founded in 1986, Gambero Rosso has made a name for itself as a leading food and wine magazine, ranking Italian restaurants around the world annually in a closely watched rundown that has become a standard bearer.
