A platform for
Beijing's up-and-coming DJs to cut their teeth, Dada's weekly Raw Meat
night serves as both a good way to limber up for the weekend as well as
to catch acts before they're famous. This week, deep house DJ KenKeni is
joined by OOPS2, BK, and venom.
Free. 10pm doors. Dada

Best known as a
producer "with an experimental approach and a serious attitude,"
Germany's Zuckermann keeps audiences on their toes with leftfield
flourishes that include field recordings, improvisations, or disparate
genres like jazz, classical, or 20th-century modernism set against a
driving techno backdrop.
RMB 50. 10.30pm. Lantern
A "darling of
major music festivals and big clubs," Dutch DJ Tony Junior (also
pictured at top) attained his biggest hit with his collaboration with
"greatest DJ of all time" Tiësto, titled "Get Down". Now Junior comes
with his super hot pecks to get One Third all hot and sweaty.
RMB 100 (advance). 10pm. One Third
Several of
Beijing's beatmakers and rhyme enthusiasts will congregate in the
Fruityspace basement this Friday for one big head-nodding session. The
bill includes Jinsfake, Natural Doc, RapaciouzC, Strawberry Papa, 1999,

This Manchester DJ
and producer brings his house and disco indebted tracks to Zhao Dai on
Saturday. Regarding his growth as a DJ, he recently told us, "I continue
to dig deeper and expand my musical palette, so that I may embrace this
in both my sets and productions as an artist." Expect a deep dance set
sprinkled with nods to his home town and a couple of disco cuts.
Price TBA. 10pm doors. Zhao Dai
Aurora take it
back to the old days this weekend when apparently people used to dress
according to their relationship status. You know the deal by now: wear
green if you're single, yellow if you DGAF, and red if you're just in it
for the music (and maybe some cheeky grinding – you wouldn't want to
feel left out). Funk, old school house, and disco will set the mood.
Free. 10pm. Aurora
