Peace and Love night at Lantern is a time for clubbers to come together and help them "forget about [their] daily life, obligations, and problems – it sets us free." DJs on hand to do so this Saturday include VLTRA_U with a set that'll skirt house to minimal, deep, progressive, and nu disco. Jackson Lee will be on hand to finish, while FlagariC curates the visuals.
RMB 50. 10pm doors. Lantern
Ukrainian DJ
Shakolin heads to Zhao Dai, bringing with him his "dystopian fantasy
that was Kiev's Soviet-era underground club scene, with heavy-artillery
techno, hypnotic, and deep beats" that he regularly spins as resident DJ
at Closer Club in Kiev.
Price TBA. 10pm doors. Zhao Dai
DJ Boring comes
out of his winter hibernation this Friday to give the people of Soi
Baochao what they want, namely anything from pop classics and modern
rock, hip-hop, dance-punk to space disco, and German techno to club and
house. Basically, as the title says, expect to dance.
Free. 10pm. Soi Baochao
Saturday, Mar 2
It's a family
affair at Aurora this Saturday with the Tidy Bar Street club's latest
Music Family Evolution night. The premise is simple(ish): six DJs take
to the decks to spin back-to-back sets, giving them a chance to show off
their chops in front of some well-connected company. In the meantime,
everyone else chows on a buffet dinner or turns up later for pure music,
drinks, and dancing. Scan/Extract QR code above to find out more on how to enter the
DJ competition and have a chance of winning a bunch of
prizes.
RMB 165 (dinner buffet), free (before 10pm), RMB 50 (after 10pm). 7pm onwards. Aurora
The "kings of
Dutch EDM" W&W return to One Third this Saturday, promising their
usual mix of big room house, a splash of progressive house, and a side
of trance. If you like your beats big, meaty, and fun, this is the one
for you.
RMB 200. 10pm. One Third
Bristol, UK's Rob Smith AKA RSD (pictured at top) hits up Dada for a night of breakbeat, hip-hop, dub, and reggae-inspired tracks. A legend among the dub set, Smith was formerly a drum 'n' bass and jungle DJ before honing his mellower beats on Grand Central Records as well as adding numerous remixes to his name.
RMB 80, RMB 60 (before 11pm). 10pm doors. Dada
