A Beijing Newbie? This Event Will Show You the Ropes, Aug 26

Nicole B. theBeijinger 2019-10-30

Fall is upon us and summer is almost out, and we all know what that means – new expat arrivals to Beijing and the International Newcomer's Network's (INN) biggest gathering of the year. This year, Expat Connection has partnered with INN at Arrival Survival to help make life a little easier as you (and your family, if applicable) settle in the capital city.

It's hard for those of us who have been around for a while to remember the initiation phase we all went through when we first arrived in Beijing but learning to navigate your way around the city, a new job, and new social circles is brand new territory for some.

INN's Arrival Survival on Aug 26 will provide newbies with an informative and jam-packed morning full of great guest speakers discussing topics ranging from safety and emergency tips, transportation, and getting around town, telecommunications and internet tips, WeChat and other useful apps, banking, cashless payments, air and water quality, and social activities, just to name a few! Aka: all the topics that we dealt with and juggled at the beginning of our Beijing journey (and beyond!).

So as to make your early days here a little less stressful, INN has also rounded up a number of Beijing vendors and businesses whose products are tailored specifically towards making life in Beijing more enjoyable and accessible. Guests can stop by their tables, exchange contact information, and most importantly, ask questions. It's also a chance to make your first expat friends; some of who might just become lifelong besties!

Spread the word, and invite your new friends and acquaintances to show them how wonderfully well connected and welcoming our Beijing expat community is. For more information, contact WeChat: INNBeijing1994 or visit innbeijing.com.

International Newcomer's Network's Arrival Survival will take place on Aug 26, 10am-midday at Capital Club Athletic Center. Attendance is RMB 60.
