Beijingers turned out in the thousands for day one of the extravaganza that is the 10th Annual Beijing Burger Festival, presented by the Beijinger x JSS 锦食送. Despite myriad difficulties this year, yesterday's clear skies and low pollution brought out record numbers of people hunting for a sizzling good time courtesy of our packed house of vendors; some familiar, some new, and some downright intriguing.
It wasn't all beef and buns though. The party was kept rip roarin' all day thanks to the nostalgic blast of hits from Interstellar, La Clave's saucy South American swagger, and the larger than life pop-rock dynamism of The Real Deal. When our eardrums weren't drenched in live tunes, DJ's Pancakelee & Mario Yu kept the dancefloor packed, with veteran of the dance scene DJ Arquitect closing out the night. Needless to say, Wangjing Walk was buzzing.
As you know, the festival marks the beginning of a month of fierce competition between the city's burger vendors in our 2020 Burger Cup. Voting is already underway with the first round now open, with the first cull of the pool down to just 32 hopefuls set to occur on Wednesday. That gives you half a week to digest any that you tried over this weekend as well as some time to try any that have been on your burger bucket list.

If you missed the first day, never fret, as the party will continue on through the weekend. Tickets will be available at the gate all weekend for RMB 30.
