Where to Brunch in Beijing this Golden Week

If you're staying in Beijing this Golden Week, make the most of all that extra time you'll have on your hands with a long, leisurely brunch. Whether you want to dip into so dim sum, pig out at a buffet, or just enjoy some breakfast food you haven't cooked yourself, there's something to suit every appetite and budget.


Do brunch in style at Azur, the restaurant at Shangri-La Hotel, Beijing by Michelin-starred chef Mauro Colagreco. Brunch starts with appetizers to share (with a choice of surf or turf-based options), followed by the entrée of your choice from a selection including coq au vin, black cod, suckling pig, and quinoa risotto. Finish with a dessert platter and classic French crepes Suzette.

When: Saturday and Sunday, 11.30am-3pm

AZURShangri-la hotel, beijing


Give yourself the ultimate weekend treat with Top Tapas and Char Bar and Grill's newly unveiled Bee Brunch, which takes its name from the honeycomb exterior of the Intercontinental Hotel. Order three or four courses from a truly mind-boggling selection of dishes, all served to your table – after all, buffets are so 2019. Choose from classic brunch dishes like cinnamon French toast and eggs Benedict to prawn linguini, Indian butter chicken, and even the humble jianbing.


When: Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, 11.30am-3pm
How much?: RMB 258 for three courses or RMB 288 for four courses
Drinks: Add free-flow drinks, including red and white sangria, passionfruit mimosas, Aperol spritz, and house wines for RMB 108, or add free-flow Moët et Chandon for RMB 488.

Give brunch a Mexican twist at El Barrio with dishes like huevos rancheros, breakfast enchiladas filled with scrambled eggs and topped with pork scratchings, and French toast made from chocolate and pumpkin babka bread, as well as taco platters and sharing dishes like nachos, tostadas, and chilaquiles. The brunch menu is available all day, so there's no need to roll out of bed early.

The semi-buffet style brunch includes access to a broad selection of snacks, starters, and desserts, as well as your choice of 17 main courses, including eggs Benedict, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, steak and chips, spicy chorizo bangers and mash, and spiced cumin trout fillet with truffle risotto.

Feast (Food by EAST)EAST, Beijing hotel


Imagine you're holidaying in Italy with brunch at Frasca. Their set menu starts with a selection of antipasti to share. Then, tuck into poached Japanese egg, Tijuana avocado guacamole, and béarnaise sauce (after all, is it really brunch without eggs?). Follow that with a choice of Roman-style pizza topped with mozzarella, peppers, olives, nduja, and spicy salami, Iberico pork chop, seared turbot, or Dutch veal roulade — plus dessert, of course.  


When: Daily, Oct 1-8, noon-3pm
How much?: RMB 268 for four courses
Drinks: Add free-flow cocktails or Prosecco and Italian wine to your brunch for RMB 148 or RMB 188, respectively, or choose both of the above plus free-flow Champagne for RMB 298.

Frascathe Opposite House


Brunch at Jing-A's Longfusi Taproom includes classic brunch dishes like avocado toast, warm spiced banana bread, and a breakfast plate with eggs, hash browns, and house-cured bacon, as well as breakfast twists on their signature sourdough pizzas.

Jing-ALongfusi


Jing Yaa Tang's all-you-can-eat dim sum lunch has always been one of our top Beijing dining picks, and you can enjoy it every day of the week during the October Holiday (disclaimer: we don't actually recommend that you go seven days in a row). At RMB 188 per person, it's fantastic value for lunch/brunch at a Michelin-starred restaurant.


When: Daily, Oct 1-8, 11am-2.30pm
How much?: RMB 188 per person
Drinks: Add free-flow sparkling wine, red wine, white wine, and Tsingtao beer for RMB 168 per person

Jing Yaa Tangthe Opposite House


Never ones to waste their magnificent views of CBD, Migas Mercado has revamped their brunch menu, brimming with classics like eggs benedict and their signature Migas club sandwich, as well as more traditional dishes like Spanish pork with rice, mushrooms, and green asparagus. Top it off with two hours of free-flow and you've got yourself some fun in the sun.


When: Saturday and Sunday, 11.30am-2.30pm
How much?: A la carte prices,
Drinks: Add RMB 168 for two-hours free-flow sangria, cava, bloody mary's, cocktails, and soft drinks.

Migas Mercado米家思


To celebrate the eight days of holidays we’ve been graciously granted this October holidays, Slow Boat Maizidian will be serving their weekend brunch every day from October 1 to 8. Tuck into hearty dishes like corned beef hash, blue cheese omelet, pumpkin pancakes, and avocado toast with grilled shimeji mushrooms. Make it a party with the DIY mimosa set (RMB 208).
