EAT: Your bite-sized guide to the best eats to be had in Beijing this week.
Hanging about the CBD and in the mood for something new for lunch? Jing-A Taproom has got you covered with three new lunch specials, all RMB 80-85. Choose from a saucy buffalo chicken wrap, a fresh and clean Cobb salad with pulled chicken served with roasted tomato vinaigrette, or Jing-A's take on Vietnamese bun cha, which comes with a choice of cashew and tofu fritters or grilled pork meatballs. Available 11am-5pm, Mon-Fri.
Las Musas daily specials get a shake-up
Just like their signature margaritas, Las Musas has given their daily specials a bit of a shakeup for spring, including two food deals. Start your week off with BOGOF burritos on Monday, then segue into BOGOF tacos on Tuesday (both with the purchase of a drink). Taco advantage (see what we did there?) of that Tuesday deal to try their new al pastor tacos, featuring achiote pork topped with tangy spiced crema, grilled pineapple, house-pickled onions, and fresh cilantro.
Not that you should need an excuse for midweek date night, but Mosto is giving you one anyway with their new deal. Every Wednesday evening (5.30-10pm), order two main courses and receive either two complimentary glasses of house wine or two complimentary desserts, including their signature bitter chocolate soufflé.
Daily deals at Caliente
Our new favorite Spanish restaurant, Caliente (a review is still in the works, so you'll have to take our word for it for now), has a bunch of daily specials that should absolutely tempt you to get over to Caochang and try it out. The deals include special offers on both food — such as half-price on all cold and hot tapas from 3-7pm on Saturdays or a complimentary tapas selection with the purchase of a bottle of wine on Thursdays — and drink — such as 25 percent off the wine list on Sundays and Mondays. Definitely don't miss the daily happy hour, featuring BOGOF wines by the glass from an extensive selection from 3-7pm every day.
