Noodles may not be hard to find in the capital, but a bowl good enough to pack a restaurant is still something special. Sanlitun is a hot spot for such restaurants, which is why, as of late, a number of daring entrepreneurs have cast their lot into opening a noodle restaurant in the neighborhood. Take a look at the freshest noodle spots below.
Fun with Guizhou lamb fen at Guifenghuang
Guizhou is known for its lamb noodles, a savory noodle dish made with a uniquely flavored soup you’ll have to try to understand – along with plenty of chives for added tang. That’s exactly what you’ll find within the traditional mural-lined white brick walls of Guifenghuang, along with a Guizhou dry noodle with peanuts, ground meat, and various veggies.
Need something a little wilder to go along with your lunch? The venue also offers a popular stinky tofu plate with large tofu pieces dippable with a dippable spice mixture.

Cross the Noodle Bridge at At Dianjing Yunnan Noodles
In addition to Yunnan-style chuan’r, pickled egg, lemongrass fish, and other classic dishes, Dianjing is serving up its specialty, traditional “cross-bridge” Yunnan noodles (pictured above). The name of this dish refers to the process of adding the ingredients to the soup yourself, something akin to hot pot. The noodles, along with raw meats (fish and shrimp are popular at this restaurant) and veggies are served on a plate alongside the boiling hot bowl of broth, giving the diner the freshest possible experience.

Linlin Lili steps up the Chongqing Noodle Game
Chongqing noodles are not a rarity in Beijing, but that hasn’t stopped Lillin Lili from bringing their branded attempt to Sanlitun, and investing a bit more in both quality of ingredients and in the atmosphere of the little store than your typical Chongqing noodle spot around town.
In a quaint single-room dining area, customers slurp the classics: Chongqing xiaomian (RMB 26-32), beef noodles with sizable cubic cuts of meat (RMB 48-54), and pork intestine noodles (RMB 46-52), among other selections, while enjoying the presence of small trees situated between the unique, tripled-up desk-like seats that are perfect for single lunchers, yet accommodating for small groups.
