Thirsty? Wet your whistle with Booze News, our wrap-up of the week's best deals, parties, concoctions, industry gossip, and more.

Dec 4: Lady Gaga party at Beersmith

Beersmith's house band Soul Shake are back with one of their popular tribute nights, this time featuring Lady Gaga. Get ready to Just Dance the night away to Gaga's most iconic hits, including Bad Romance, Poker Face, and more. Entry is RMB 100 including one house drink (beer, wine or mixer).

Use the party as an excuse to try their new seasonal beer: Cranberry Milkshake IPA. Milkshake IPAs are a trendy sub-style of hazy IPA, defined by the addition of lactose (sometimes known as milk sugar) and fruit, which gives them a smooth, creamy mouthfeel — just like a milkshake! Beersmith added festive cranberries to theirs, creating a sweet-sour beer that clocks in at 6.4% ABV.

Dec 4: TRiO Christmas Wine Bazaar

If wine is more of your thing, then TRiO has got you covered for tomorrow afternoon. From 1-5pm you can taste and purchase 30 different wines and authentic foods from around the world. There will also be handmade jewelry to peruse while you sip and munch. Tickets are RMB 268 per person, and can be booked by scanning the QR code in the poster above.

"Daily Red Wine" half-case deal from Le Sommelier

Want to stock up on easy-drinking red wines ahead of the Christmas season? Check out Le Sommelier's Daily Red Wine package, which gets you six bottles of red wine for just RMB 399 (down from RMB 750). The wines are all Spanish, hailing from different denominación de origen regions including Bierzo, Rioja, Valencia, and Navarra. Check out the wines and purchase the deal in this WeChat post.

Fresh fast fruit or slow-aged bottles? Try both at Jing-A

Explore two different beers at the opposite end of the brewing spectrum this week at Jing-A. The first, A'Chen, is a zest wheat beer "wet-hopped" with a fresh harvest of tangerine peel from Xinhui in Guangdong (a region known for producing tangerines thanks to a constant backwash from the South China Sea that creates a unique soil composition). Expect an almost mimosa-like experience thanks to a big citrus hit and a hazy body.

After a one-day preview last weekend, Jing-A is also releasing the first 750ml bottles from its barrel program. Try the Marselan Ye – an ale enhanced with Marselan wine grapes – or the Barrel-Aged Happy Farmhouse – a farmhouse-style ale with notes of spicy earthiness and lively funk. The beers are available to consume in store or take away at all Jing-A locations.

Dec 11: Enjoy a welcome beer & free flow cocktails at The Beijinger's Pizza Cup Bracket D Taste-Off

While tickets for this weekend's 2021 Pizza Cup Bracket C Taste-Off are sold out, you can still grab tickets for the Bracket D Taste-Off next Saturday! Head on down to Georgia's Feast on Dec 11 from 11.30am-2.30pm to sample pies from Great Leap Brewing, Jing-A Brewing Co., The Pizza Show, and Pyro Pizza, and choose your pick of who will move on to the Grand Final.

However, it’s not just pizza to be had, but booze as well. Lots and lots of booze. Along with a welcome beer from Brooklyn Brewery, guests with VIP tickets can enjoy the following free flow cocktails: all-you-can-drink mojitos, Aperol spritzes, rose margaritas, Cuba libres, and gin & tonics for the duration of the event. Scan the QR code below to book tickets. Better book fast, though, because these tickets sell fast!
