Indoor Dining to Resume; Covid Test Rules Change
Indoor dining is set to resume and Covid testing requirements are to be loosened in all areas of Beijing excluding Fengtai and parts of Changping from tomorrow onwards, according to a report today from Beijing Daily.
The report also states that all areas of town, except Fengtai and parts of southern Changping, are cleared to resume office work (although it's best to double check with your company's HR before heading back tomorrow).
Nucleic acid test requirements for entering all public venues are being relaxed as well. From now on, you'll need a test that was taken less than three days ago (72 hours) to gain access to gated venues.
Students will be allowed to return to campus as well, with high school seniors returning Jun 6 to prepare for the Gaokao. Primary and secondary school students, meanwhile, will return to school on Jun 13, while kindergarteners will return on Jun 20.
Waimai and delivery personnel will once again be allowed to enter communities for deliveries direct to your door.
Along with restaurants, all other previously suspended services such as renovation and moving services will be back, although no deadline was given, with the report vaguely saying services would be resumed in an orderly manner.
While some districts and areas are still shut for the time being -- communities and areas undergoing lockdowns will remain as such for now -- things are starting to look on the up as far as going out and about is concerned.
That being said, while these rules go into effect starting Jun 6, expect challenges to arise as it might take some time for this to trickle down to every last community in Beijing.
