Daxing Airport to Open 20 New Routes for Summer Season


Beijing’s Daxing International Airport announced this Sunday they would be adding nearly 20 overseas routes for the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) summer season, according to Global Times.


This comes as more carriers have opened flights to and from Daxing, with Qatar Airlines opening a daily route between Doha and Beijing on Sunday, Mar 26. Air Macao also resumed flights between Beijing and Macao SAR on Sunday, followed by a route between Beijing and Phnom Penh run by Cambodia Airways which opened Monday, Mar 27.


More carriers will be opening Daxing routes this week, including Etihad Airlines and Air Asia. These routes will run from Daxing to Abu Dhabi and Kuala Lumpur.


China Southern Airlines plans to open flights between Daxing and Moscow four times per week, with frequency expected to increase in June this year. China Southern also intends to restart routes from Daxing to Amsterdam, Gimpo, and more routes expected to cover Osaka and London.

ANA to Resume Tokyo Haneda-Beijing Flight Route in April


Japan’s All Nippon Airlines intends to reopen flights to Beijing from Tokyo Haneda Airport this April, reports Japan Times.


ANA will operate daily round trip flights between Tokyo Haneda and Beijing from Apr 1, excluding Apr 3 and 6. ANA has already resumed flights between major Chinese cities including Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen and Tokyo Narita.


ANA will also be reopening flights between Tokyo and Shanghai, with daily roundtrip flights between Haneda and Shanghai Pudong, as well as Haneda and Shanghai Hongqiao.


Vietnam Airlines Reopens Beijing-Hanoi Route


Vietnamese carrier Vietnam Airlines flew its first flight from Hanoi to Beijing Capital International Airport in three years on Mar 20, reports the Urdu Point.


The carrier is currently operating three flights per week between Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport and Beijing Capital, with the frequency of flights expected to increase in the middle of 2023.
