Hop Project Bounces to Dagu Lu
By Lauren Hogan
Fear not grilled cheese and craft beer-lovers, The Hop Project may have been booted from Yongkang Lu, but they're not leaving town.
The 'craft beer pop-up and grilled cheese bar' is simply moving the party to Dagu Lu, joining the likes of other YKL pal Cafe de Stagiaires on the upper Jing side. [Ed. Note: Stop trying to make 'upper Jing side' happen, Lauren. It's not going to happen]
According to owners, the new Hop Project is going to be similar to the YKL version, just "on steroids" with seating for 50 around a central bar plus 30 more on the terrace. Go big or go home, as they say...
Opening is scheduled for the first week of September with a month of pop-up beers from Jing-A of Beijing (the folks behind the 'Beijing Bikini,' AKA Watermelon Beer), followed by a lineup of international craft pop ups in October. They'll also be 'steroid-ing' up the Co-Cheese menu too and will have an in-house mini micro brewery where they'll be offering home brew classes an informational events.
Stayed tuned for event announcements.
