UPDATE: What is Left on Yongkang Lu?

The YKL Doomsday of August 26 has come and gone and *gasp* our beloved bar strip still stands!

Straight from our source on the street, the following are still open (some with adjusted menus), and have no plans to hightail it out of there anytime soon:

- Beautiful Concept Coffee

- Blarney Stone Irish Pub

- Cafe del Volcan

- El Luchador Tacos & Tequila

- Griffin Coffee

- Hungry Lung's Kitchen

- Kebabs on the Grille

- Lizzy's All Natural Smoothies

- Pain Chaud Bakery (They'll be moving two doors down to the old Just Grapes space, as well as opening a larger location around the corner on Jiashan).

- Ron Champ Bar

- Rooster Bar

- Sheng Sushi

- Sliders Bar

- Sushi'O

- Tap House

- Topolino Pizza by Pizza Street

Several who have left are only moving a hop, skip and jump to Jing'an. The Hop Project will be re-opening soon on Dagu Lu, Cape Grape is relocating to Wuding and just around the corner stands the new Revolucion on Yanping. Those missing their aperol spritzs from Funkadeli need only walk a few blocks over to The Parrot, which is headed up by the same fun-loving crew.

There's also 'the new Yongkang Lu' Datong Mill, which will be housing longtime YKL staple Cafe de Stagiaires and a new El Luchador. Then just down the road on Julu, at the new Lost Heaven Silk Road complex, Lizzy's Smoothies will also be opening another location.

And there you have it. Some YKL staples have moved, some are just opening another location (congrats!), Big Movie is completely gone *tear*, but after all has been said and done, Yongkang Lu still stands.

But as far as Dongping Lu goes, well, that's a different story...
