Temps to Plummet Below Freezing in Shanghai Ahead of CNY
By Lauren Hogan
By now you know, the temperature has dropped... and that cold chill is going to continue.
Icy gusts from a strong cold front up north will have temperatures down between 0 and 3 degrees today.
Tomorrow it will get even colder, hitting a -1 in downtown areas, and if you're on wheels, be careful as the roads could turn icy. The outskirs of Shanghai are expected to see as low as -5.
The coldfront will continue until about Wednesday of next week, when it will start to creep back up, but not by much.
By the time Friday hits, the start of our holiday season, temps will be back up to about 3 to 9 degrees (so at least for those in town it won't be too bad).
Be sure to pack extra layers (and be mindful of potential frozen pipes, which the city saw happen around this same time, last year).
