Google Translate App Now Available in China Without VPN
Sick of questionable Chinese-English translations from Baidu? Well that's about to change, because the Google Translate App has just been reintroduced to China. (Hooray!)
The tech giant just relaunched Translate for iOS and Android in China yesterday, and you no longer need a VPN to use it. It marks the first time Google has relaunched a mobile app specifically for users in China, according to TechCrunch.
The web version of Google Translate, meanwhile, is and has remained accessible for China-based users for the last eight years. With an app now thrown into the mix, Google Translate has the potential to reach hundreds of millions of Chinese mobile users.
The app relaunch is one of Google's first major steps in making a big comeback to the Chinese Mainland.
