European Chamber Carbon Neutrality Report Online Launch, 25 May
Carbon Neutrality Report
Online Launch
25th May, 15:00-16:30
The European Chamber and Roland Berger would like to invite you to the online launch of our upcoming report Carbon Neutrality: The Role of European Business in China’s Race to 2060, on 25th May, 15:00-16:30. President Joerg Wuttke will present the main findings.
Achieving carbon neutrality is a key policy objective for the Chinese government. Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2020, Chinese President outlined China’s intentions to peak its carbon emissions before 2030 and laid down an extremely ambitious target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060. This has catalysed a series of domestic policy shifts, yet the path to carbon neutrality remains riddled with obstacles.
The European Chamber’s latest report draws on the expertise of European companies operating in China with extensive experience working on decarbonisation-related challenges in their home markets to outline the key barriers that risk undermining China’s carbon neutrality drive and make suggestions on how best to address them.
The Carbon Neutrality report has been presented to Chinese Premier Li Keqiang (click to read more) and President Ren Hongbin of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (click to read more) on 19th May.
The report will be available to download from the European Chamber website from 15:00 on 25th May.
