At present, under the serious coronavirus epidemic situation, SIBS resolutely puts all teachers’ and students’ health and life safety first, and actively follows the request of the State and the Ministry of Education to postpone our school’s starting date. At the same time, We’ve officially launched online teaching curriculum since February 3.
On January 27th, SIBS immediately established a leading group for epidemic prevention and control. Principal Aijun Zhang serves as the team leader, and Principal Simon Chen serves as the deputy team leader to comprehensively plan, coordinate, and implement various campus affairs, including epidemic prevention work, staff returning to school, and online teaching programs.
SIBS has adopted closed campus due to epidemic prevention policy. In addition to routine cleaning, disinfection, ventilation, opening air system, etc., the school thoroughly cleans every tables, chairs, and teaching aids both indoor and outdoor, conducts body temperature detection for every person traveling to and from school, and prohibits those whose body temperature exceeds 37.3 degrees from entering ourcampus. At the meantime, the 14-day policy of quarantining returnees from other provinces is strictly implemented. Teachers can work from home during the quarantine after returning to Beijing.
Following the request of the Shunyi District Board of Education, SIBS collects and record every student’s and staff’s health status every day . As of February 7th, all students, teachers, and staff of SIBS have participated in the personal health information collection, and they health is in condition. We would like to appreciate all parents for their cooperation in supporting our work!

君诚学校启动在线教学
SIBS has launched online teaching programs
自去年起，我校倡导“以数据驱动教学”，并采购微软、企业微信、Managebac、BrainPop等先进软件应用到教学当中，取得了丰硕的经验和成果。为抗击疫情，同时也是顺应信息时代的潮流，我校于2月3日正式启动了在线教学，为全体学生提供了丰富多彩的在线课程内容。
根据目前收集的反馈问卷，大家对学习效果的总体满意度等指标均在3.8-4.1(满分5.0）之间。正如学校预计的，低年级学生在起步阶段会碰到不少问题，且需要家长们的大力协助，这一点在我校发布的《在线学习家长和学生须知》已有提及。无论后续疫情如何变化，君诚学校借当下特殊情况之际，把除了传统课堂以外的学习方法和手段传递给学生和家长们都是有必要的。因此，请家长们不必为初期碰到的困难而焦虑。在本周的教学中，老师们会抽出时间确保每位同学都能上手，并逐步减少低年级同学对家长们的依赖。
在线教学的挑战，也是北京乃至全国国际学校学生和家长遇到的挑战。此刻疫情形势依然严峻，过早讨论疫情结束后的做法不如同心协力专注于把握当下孩子们宝贵的学习时间。假若疫情导致全国性停学数周乃至像03年非典时期的2个月，这样停课不是任何延迟假期补课能补回来的。感谢家长们的理解和支持！
Since last year, our school has advocated "data-driven teaching", and has purchased several advanced softwares such as Microsoft, Enterprise WeChat, Managebac, and BrainPop. They have been applied them to teaching, and rich experience and results have been achieved. In order to combat the coronavirus epidemic, and to conform to the trend of the mobile information era, SIBS has officially launched online teaching on February 3, providing a variety of online courses for all the students.
According to the feedback from survey we’ve collected so far, everyone's overall satisfaction with the learning effect and other indicators are between 3.8-4.1(out of 5.0). As expected by the school, lower grade students will encounter many problems at the beginning stage and need parents’ assistance. This has been mentioned in the "Online Learning for Parents and Students" issued by our school. No matter how the subsequent epidemic situation changes, it is necessary for our school to use all learning methods other than traditional classroom to students and parents on the occasion of special circumstances. Therefore, parents don’t need to worry about all the difficulties encountered in the beginning. In this week's teaching, teachers will take time to ensure that every student can get started, and gradually reduce the dependence of lower grade students on parents.
The challenge of online teaching is also one for all the students and parents of any international schools in Beijing and even across the country. The epidemic situation is still serious at this moment. Premature discussion of things with the epidemic ending is not as good as focusing on the precious learning time of students. If the epidemic caused a nationwide suspension of schooling for weeks or even as long as 2 months like it was during the 2003 SARS period, no such suspension of schooling would not likely be made up by using parts of vacations. We appreciate all the parents for your understanding and support!

Fortunately, we have some good news.
At the Scholastic Art and Writing Contest held at the end of last semester, our student Qianjun Xue’s work "Jungle"won the Gold Key; and Yanzhou Ning’s work "Match Well of Chinese and Western" received an Honorable Mention.
Scholastic Art and Writing Contest was founded in 1923 to recognize young people with outstanding talents in art and writing. It is the oldest and most prestigious international creative competition in the United States. It is also the source of the most scholarships for young artists and writers.
