Painting and photography are “twin” concepts in art history.

从“仿画摄影”、“集锦摄影”、“画意摄影”、“影画合璧”等摄影流派的名字就可以窥见到些许端倪,同时摄影对绘画和当代艺术的发展诸如波普艺术、照相写实主义以及格哈德·里希特、大卫·霍克尼等流派和画家产生了重大影响。这还只是技术与视觉层面的讨论,更不用说在精神内核层面的同频共振。
The names of photographic genres such as "Faux painting photography ", "Photojournalism", "Pictorial photography" and " Painting & Photography " give some indication of the impact of photography.Photography has also had a major influence on the development of painting and contemporary art, such as Pop Art, Photorealism and genres and painters such as Gerhard Richter and David Hockney. This is only a discussion of the technical and visual aspects, not to mention the resonance at the spiritual core.

本次展览就是基于这样的视角与脉络,集合了董文胜、黎朗、李舜、林舒、木格、鸟头、孙小舟、孙彦初、魏壁、薛若哲、张晓十一位位艺术家,他们通过各自的艺术探索和实践丰富了基于绘画与摄影的内涵。
Based on this perspective and context, this exhibition gathers eleven artists, Dong Wensheng, Li Lang, Li Shun, Lin Shu, Mu Ge, BirdHead, Sun Xiaozhou, Sun Yanchu, Wei Bi, Xue Ruozhe and Zhang Xiao. Through their own artistic exploration and practice, they have enriched the connotation of painting and photography.

Dong Wensheng hand-colours his black-and-whitegelatin silver print to extend the core of the image infinitely; in Li Lang's 《Father》 series, he writes the date of each day of his father's life on the relevant photographic works, and his complex but sincere emotions overflow on the paper; Li Shun forms a mirror image of each other's text through the appropriation and transformation of painting,negativefilms and elements.

林舒用个人化的绘画语言将经典的摄影作品绘于纸上,完成了超越本体影像的转译;木格新作通过对“物影”多为视角的组合排列,表现出一种介于虚实之间的意向,形成与物派抽象绘画的对话;鸟头组合在本次展览除了一如既往的绘画摄影作品,还展示了通过摄影技术创作的版画,两组作品中形成了独特呼应;孙小舟不满足单纯的影像记录,利用漆画材料和古典主义的画框将“画意”融入摄影。
Lin Shu uses his personalised painting language to paint classic photographic works on paper, completing a translation beyond the ontology of the image; Mu Ge's new works express an intention between thereal and the imaginary through the combination and arrangement of "objects and shadows", forming a dialogue with the abstract painting of the Object School. In addition to their usual paintings and photographs, Birdhead’s group also presents prints created through photographic techniques in this exhibition, creating a unique echo in the two groups of works;Sun Xiaozhou is not satisfied with the mere recording of images, but uses lacquer materials and classical frames to integrate "pictorial meaning" into photography.

孙彦初作为“摄影画家”,通过显影液与底片的特殊性进行绘画,呈现出与众不同的面貌,令人印象深刻;魏壁的《梦溪》系列把类似于水墨的斑驳质感融入摄影,并在画面空白处通过小楷题跋,俨然一幅记忆画卷;薛若哲作为新写实主义的当代画家,一直通过摄影探讨与画面的潜在关系和内在逻辑;张晓将具有自身符号化的摄影物象转印于古籍版画之上,形成了充满想象空间的新影像载体。
Sun Yanchu as a "photographic painter", paints through the special characteristics of developing fluid and negativefilms, presenting a different look. Meng Xi series by Wei Bi incorporates a mottled texture similar to ink and wash into photography, and is inscribed in the margins in small block letters as a memory scroll; Xue Ruozhe, a contemporary painter of neo-realism, has been exploring the potential relationship and inner logic of the image through photography; Zhang Xiao transfers his own symbolic photographic objects onto ancient book prints, forming a new image carrier full of imagination space.
In the context of contemporary art, the boundaries between photography and painting are becoming increasingly blurred, but their interplay is becoming clearer. Starting from the concept, they break the barriers between the photographic painting and painterly photography, and enrich the space of imagination and expectation.

关于艺术家 / About Artists
陈瑞,艺术策展人,现为南京艺术学院美术馆助理研究员,从事展览策划、教学与研究工作。兼任上海可美术馆执行馆长。2009年至今策划展览数十场,发表论文及评论多篇。
近年来关注当代影像与摄影艺术的跨文化交流,主持或联合策划了包括“遇见为未来的方式——荷兰一分钟影像基金会二十周年特展”、“无名之人——2000年以来的德国当代影像”、“出镜——中国当代短片影像展”、“花幽·荒木经惟个展”、“对流——中德当代影像展”、“记忆的地图——濑户正人摄影展”、“此河旧影——金宇澄·陆元敏联展”等相关影像展览活动。
