not a little / not a bit，哪个是「非常」？

little / bit / few 这三个词字面含义虽简单，但由于搭配繁杂，许多学习者心乱如麻。

后面接可数名词还是不可数名词？

接不可数名词的是：

a little：Add a little water to the soup. 汤里加点水。

a bit：There's a bit of dirt on your collar. 衣领上有点污渍。（注意，「一些……」，a bit of 中的 of 不要漏掉。 ）—— a bit of sth 英国人更常用

接可数名词的是：

a few：She was silent for a few seconds. 她安静了几秒钟。

如果没有冠词a，那么little / few表示「几乎没有」

few

Few people understand the difference. 几乎没有人能理解这种不同。

quite a little / not a little / no little 是同一个意思

quite a little / not a little / no little = 许多（+不可数名词）

It caused not a little / no little  confusion. 这引起了不小的疑惑。

Some spoke quite a little English. 有一部分人能说大量英语。

但：very little = 很少（+不可数名词）

Fish contains very little fat. 鱼类脂肪含量极少。

quite a few / not a few 也是同一个意思

quite a few / not a few = 许多（+可数名词）

The letter arrived quite a few days ago. 这封信多天之前就到了。

Not a few of my friends are vegetarian. 我朋友中不少人是素食主义者。

但是：very few = 很少（+可数名词）

We get very few complaints from customers. 我们很少接到顾客的投诉。

little / bit + 形容词、副词

a little = a bit = a little bit

如果修饰形容词或者副词，a little = a bit = a little bit（美国口语里，似乎a little bit用得更多）

These shoes are a little / a bit too big for me. 这些鞋我穿的话大了一点。

She was a little disappointed with the job. 她对工作很失望。

This may be a little bit painful. 这可能会有点痛。

not a little 和 not a bit 含义刚好相反

not a little：非常

It was not a little puzzling. 这真是太费解了。

not a bit = 一点也不

I am not a bit disappointed. 我一点也不失望。
