Foreign NGO Law Briefing
AmCham Shanghai invites you to a discussion on China’s New Foreign NGO Law Briefing on Monday, March 13, 6:00-7:30pm, at the AmCham Shanghai Conference Center.
On January 1st, the new ‘Law on the Management of the Activities of Overseas NGOs within Mainland China’ put forth by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress in May last year has come into force and is now enforceable. Since then a handful of foreign NGOs have registered and many more have begun the registration process. William Lu, a lawyer who specializes in helping NGOs in China, will provide an overview of the new law and its impact on NGOs operating in China. Mr. Lu is helping over 20 foreign NGOs register and has deep insight regarding the law and its implementation. This session is off the record and seating is limited.
