新加坡国立大学全奖博士生退学，只为追寻他的支教梦
在云南边境有一个美丽的镇子——临沧市云县漫湾镇，因为山路造成的交通不便等原因，这座边陲小镇里的漫湾中学成了镇子上唯一的中学。
这里有一群年轻人，他们是名校高材生，也是漫湾中学的支教老师。张鑫杰就是他们其中的一员。
There’s a group of highly educated young people who studied at top colleges, and are doing volunteer teaching to relieve the shortage of teachers in rural areas.Zhang Xinjie is one of them.
支教：volunteer teaching
1992年出生的张鑫杰，曾在美国哈佛大学经济系、哈佛大学教育学院担任研究助理、新加坡国立大学攻读经济学博士学位，后退出；现支教于漫湾中学，任副校长兼任九年级133班班主任。
从新加坡国立大学博士项目退出来支教，这不是一次普通的选择。
Withdrawing from a PhD program at the National University of Singapore to support teaching in rural areas is not an easy choice.
为了更好地将所学和研究与乡村实际情况结合，他毅然选择了深入乡村支教，将所学知识深深地扎根于中国的教育土壤。如今在漫湾镇工作的他，推掉了杭州、上海、三亚等城市数个高薪工作，选择继续在乡村教育一线工作。
In order to better combine his study and research with the actual situation in the countryside, he resolved to go deep into the countryside to make his study rooted in China's educational situation. He turned down several high-payingjobs in Hangzhou, Shanghai, Sanya and other cities, but chose to continue working in rural education.
张鑫杰有一个自己心目中的教育“理想国”，他希望这个“理想国”能够充分发挥贫困地区孩子所有潜力，让孩子们成为一个有朝气、有动力、有信心的群体，希望未来他们能用知识型的力量反哺家乡，回馈社会。
Zhang has an ideal world in his heart. He hopes that this world can give full play toall the potential of children in poor areas and allow them to become a group with vitality, motivation and confidence. He believes that they can build up their hometowns with the power of knowledge and give back to society in the future.
张鑫杰所在的漫湾中学有700多名初中生，每年选择上高中的学生只有不足30%，大多数学生初中毕业后会去专科学校继续进修或者选择回家务农，有的还会出去打工。从当班主任的第一天起，张鑫杰就为自己和班级定下了一个目标：133班的所有同学都要升上高中！
作为九年级133班的班主任，他带领着班级学生奋勇前进，班级综合成绩位列年级第一，张鑫杰骄傲的说：我的孩子100%都能上高中。
每两周张鑫杰都会选择一位班里的孩子进行家访，了解孩子在家的学习状况以及家长的想法，这周去家访的学生名叫李露宏。在家访的过程中我们了解到，李露宏小学排名并不靠前，上了初中后变得懂事成绩也进步很快，当问及希望他去哪所高中读书时，李露宏的家长说：“本科，我也不知道。”大家都笑了。
张鑫杰介绍到：“这种情况在当地十分常见，大部分家长其实对于孩子的考学并不了解，觉得把孩子送到学校就可以了。”
如今，张鑫杰心系几十个甚至几百个学生的前途命运，他期待着孩子们的努力得到回报，期盼着开花结果的那一天。
Zhang is very much concerned about the future of dozens or even hundreds of his students. He looks forward to the rewards of their efforts as well as the achievements they deserve.
由于出色的工作，张鑫杰第二年就被镇党委政府任命为副校长。他意识到仅仅负责班里的几十个孩子是不够的，他需要在有限的时间里发挥更大的影响力。
在他看来，支教老师不能仅限于做一个知识的提供者，还可以做很多事情的推动者和号召者。因此，他召集几位志同道合的项目老师、当地任课教师和家长，建立了一支团队，大家通过每周开例会，积极地讨论问题，解决困难。
In Zhang’s view, a volunteer teacher should not only be a provider of knowledge,but also someone who promotes and convenes many activities. Therefore, Zhang built a group of teachers in the program, local teachers and parents. They hold weekly meetings to discuss difficulties and find ways to resolve them.
他们还一同发起了“大学生陪读项目”、“奖学金项目”、“文艺晚会”“单词听写大赛”等大型项目，让团队在协作中变得强大，让每位教师的潜能发挥至最大。
They have launched projects such as a program to support college students, a scholarship program, a cultural show and a word dictation contest, enabling the team to grow stronger through cooperation and maximize the potential of each teacher.
张鑫杰这一待，便是三年，当初和他一起来的项目老师纷纷离去，他还坚守在自己的岗位上。
张鑫杰说：“既然选择留下来就不会后悔，因为我觉得革命尚未成功。”
“愿中国青年都能摆脱冷气，只是向上走，不必听自暴自弃者流的话。能做事的做事，能发声的发声。有一份热，发一分光，就像萤火一般，也可以在黑暗里发一点光，不必等候炬火。”

这是张鑫杰最喜欢的一句话。在他看来，支教不仅可以提升个人能力，增加社会阅历，同时也积攒许多宝贵的经验。他希望越来越多优秀的青年人能够加入到支教的队伍中，把自己的能量发挥到农村教育上。
This is Zhang’s favorite quotation. In his view, being a volunteer teacher helps him to improve his ability and accumulate valuable experience. He hopes more and more outstanding young Chinese could join in volunteer teaching and put theirenergy into rural education.
现在，张鑫杰已经完成了第一阶段的支教工作，并被英国剑桥大学录取，留学归来后他会继续投身于农村教育事业，他的故事还未完待续。
