6月22日至23日，澳大利亚北领地首府、广州市国际友好合作交流城市达尔文市线上举办国际贸易展览会。广州市市长郭永航应邀以视频方式出席开幕式并致欢迎辞。中国驻澳大利亚大使肖千、澳大利亚北领地州长娜塔莎·费尔斯、达尔文市市长孔·瓦茨卡利斯等出席开幕式。

Guo Yonghang, Mayor of Guangzhou, addressed online the opening ceremony of the international trade fair hosted by Darwin, capital of Australia’s Northern Territory, during June 22-23. 

郭永航在致辞中说，在全球携手抗击疫情、推动经济复苏重要时刻，本次展览会如期举办恰逢其时、意义非凡，为各友城建立广泛联系、寻找合作空间提供了良好机会，充分体现了达尔文市推动友城互利合作的强烈愿望，让我们对两市建立更友好关系充满了信心。我们衷心希望与在线的世界各大城市加强交流、分享经验、增进合作，共建人类命运共同体，携手创造更加美好的世界。

"The exhibition offers a great opportunity for cities to establish ties and seek cooperation under the pressure to recover economy amid the global pandemic. It indicates the wish of Darwin to further intercity ties and give us confidence in forging more friendly relations between two cities. We hope to enhance communication and cooperation with all participating cities," said Guo.

此次展览会恰逢中澳建交50周年，对于深化中澳经贸合作、促进双方关系焕发新活力具有重要意义。展览会吸引了达尔文11个国际友城、109家企业参加，其中62家来自3个中国友城——广州、青岛和海口。在城市推介环节中，广州开发区全球招商总监贺励平带领线上观众“探索广州”，展示广州深厚的历史文化底蕴和创新宜居的现代化大都市形象；广州环投福山环保能源有限公司副总经理刘文以“聚力循环标杆、赋能绿色发展”为题，以七大循环经济产业园为例，介绍固废处理设施建设“广州模式”，宣介广州市绿色发展实践成果。

The exhibition coincided with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Australia and was expected to promote economic and trade cooperation between two sides. The exhibition attracted 109 enterprises from 11 of Darwin's sister cities, 62 of which were from three Chinese cities including Guangzhou.

广州与达尔文于2019年11月结为友好合作交流城市，双方计划在智慧城市建设、国际贸易和投资、文化旅游等领域开展合作。达尔文市是澳大利亚北领地的首府，因英国生物学家查尔斯·罗伯特·达尔文于1839年到此考察而得名，是澳大利亚距离亚洲最近的区域，也是著名旅游城市和重要港口城市。

Guangzhou and Darwin formed sister city relations in November 2019. Both cities have been seeking cooperation in fields like smart city construction, international trade and investment and cultural tourism since then.
