King & Wood Mallesons releases KWM INSIGHTS: Security System under the PRC Civil Code

As an important guarantee for the realisation of claims, the security system plays a key role in securing and facilitating transactions and promoting economic development. The security regulations of China are incorporated in the prevailing Civil Code effective as of 1 January 2021, on which date the PRC laws previously governing security, including the General Principles of Civil Law, the Security Law and the Real Right Law, were repealed.

This pamphlet, compiled by King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) and KWM Institute, presents a collection of insights provided by KWM partners and associates based on their studies of the security system under the Civil Code and the relevant judicial interpretations and their expertise and experience in civil and commercial matters.
