日前,奢侈品牌Louis Vuitton在美国德克萨斯州的Johnson小镇开设皮革工厂。开业当日,美国总统Trump携女儿Ivanka出席并参观工厂,一同随行的还有集团主席兼首席执行官Bernard Arnault及其领导小组、德克萨斯州政府官员等。
此次在德州新建皮革工厂,也为当地带来了更多就业机会。据悉,工厂将在未来五年内创造1,000个就业岗位。
Louis Vuitton在去年签署参与了由白宫发起的 “Pledge to America’s Workers”倡议活动,该活动旨在通过合作企业提供的教育、培训项目,为美国工人谋取更多福利。
此次新建皮革工厂,除了为员工进行皮革制品工艺方面培训,也是为了更好地应对美国市场对品牌产品日益增长的需求。
据联合经济委员会民主劳工局称,在美国,与时尚有关的工作岗位约有180万,其中包括23.2万岗分布于纺织制造业,入服装、鞋履等。
Bernard Arnault, chairman and chief executive officer of Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy, has lined up a power group for Thursday’s opening of the Louis Vuitton Rochambeau Ranch in Johnson County, Tex. — none other than President Trump, as well as first daughter Ivanka Trump and Texas state officials. Arnault will also be joined at the event by other LVMH senior executives, including Louis Vuitton’s chairman and CEO Michael Burke.
Billed as the luxury house’s newest leather goods “workshop,” the facility is meant to reflect LVMH’s commitment to bring new jobs to the U.S., according to pressmaterial provided by the company Sunday. The plan is to create 1,000 jobs in the next five years at the facility near Keene, Tex.
By doing so, Louis Vuitton is making good on its support of the Pledge to America’s Workers, the educational training program that was launched last year. Apple, FedEx and Boeing are among the companies that have signed up with the aim being to create six million training opportunities
This week’s opening also signals Louis Vuitton’s commitment to extensive training in leather goods craftsmanship for all employees as an effort to meet the increased demand in the U.S. market for Louis Vuitton products.
In the U.S., there are 1.8 million fashion-related jobs including 232,000 in manufacturing textiles for apparel and footwear, according to the Joint Economic Committee Democratic Bureau of Labor.

新店位于Maximilan大街上一栋19世纪的建筑内,面积有168平方米。店铺的设计灵感来源于品牌创立的1970年代,大量几何元素的运用将店铺区隔成不同的空间,同时增强了整体的视觉效果。
内部装饰则是现代化风格,与复古的外观形成鲜明对比,结合了抛光的不锈钢、有机玻璃等。地面是蓝色丝绒地毯,与立柱的外圈包裹材质相同,围绕立柱还装饰了金属链条。店内产品包括男女装、配饰、包袋、鞋履和旅行产品等。
Acquired by South Korean-based Sungjoo Group in 2005, the company has seen quite a few changes to get back on track, including endeavours in retail. Similar to self-discerning peers in the luxury industry, MCM‘s brick-and-mortar presence has become instrumental to the brand experience and it has set out to open new retail spaces in key shopping destinations across the planet.
Under Dirk Schönberger’s creative supervision, the brand has seen an accelerated flagship store expansions and following launches in Berlin, Los Angeles and Tokyo, MCM has returned to its cradle, opening an outpost on Munich‘s golden mile of luxury.
Occupying a spacious 168 sqm. (1,808 sq.ft.) ground floor space in a late 19th-century building by architect Friedrich Bürklein along Maximilanstrasse, it sees astarkly contrasting interior design by Berlin-based architecture practice Gonzalez Haase.
Creating a benchmark of sorts for future MCM stores, the chosen design codes feature geometric shapes which reference the 1970s, the era which spawned the MCM brand.
By using curves, triangles, rectangles and round forms, the retail space gains distinct sections which, at the same time, also overlap, creating a solid visual cohesion.
The material palette is distinctly contemporary, pairing polished stainless steel, plexiglass, latex and mirrors, but to steer clear from austerity, fluffy carpeting in royal blue anchors the setting, and combined with pillars and circular seating clad in a similar material, and suspended ornamental metal chains, it adds a whimsical element.
The new MCM flagship store carries the brand’s full range of men’s and women’sapparel, accessories, bags, shoes, and travel products.
Puma and Balmain partners for new collection

Balmain has partnered with Puma for a ready-to-wear collection, enlisting actress and model Cara Delevingne for creative input. The creations will go on sale worldwide from November 21.
Together, they came up with a collection of ready-to-wear, shoes, and accessories directly inspired by the world of boxing.
The first visual showed off by Balmain shows Delevingne in a boxing ring, wearing a colorful Puma x Balmain-branded sportswear-inspired outfit along with boxing gloves.
Forits part, the German sportwear brand released a short video featuring Delevingne, Rousteing, and a number of other models wearing pieces from the unisex collection.
The collaboration serves up pieces combining sportswear and glamour, notably along-sleeved structured mini dress. Throughout, the DNA of both brands show through, as does Delevingne’s personality. WWD (Women’s Wear Daily) reports that the collection will be composed of 35 pieces in total.
Delevingne, who has alternately posed for both Puma and Balmain several times, has already proven her mettle as co-designer alongside Rousteing. Last Spring, the top model created three handbags for the luxury house.
Fashionist as will have to wait until November 21 to get their hands on the pieces from the Puma x Balmain collection, which will be retailed worldwide.

Paper Magazine’s current Editor-in-Chief has been named Global Creative Director at MAC Cosmetics, according to a report by Women’s Wear Daily (WWD).
Drew Elliott is leaving publishing for the beauty industry on October 28, taking over from Toni Lakis.
For those who do not know him already, Drew Elliott was behind Paper Magazine’s Winter 2014 cover entitled “Break the Internet,” for which Kim Kardashian posed nude.
The photographs, shot by Jean-Paul Goude, quickly gained worldwide attention, attracting millions of visitors to the magazine’s site in only a few hours.
Drew Elliott confirmed the news on his Instagram page, stating that it is “a dream come true,” and paying homage to his numerous years at Paper Magazine.

Located right by Covent Garden’s piazza, a tourist destination, it is surrounded by a shopping hub and close to West End theatres.
Mean while the brand has already established its presence in Paris and Berlin, with future plans of setting foot in Switzerland and Spain as part of its European strategy.
The brand opened its first-ever shop in Hong Kong at Discovery Bay in 2013 with its headquarters situated in Hong Kong, before planting its world-recognised flagship in Kyoto. Now trading in more than 11 countries, Arabica has more eight stores in the works and plans to continue to expand in new international markets.
