HKEX University Training Series stops in Zhengzhou
The HKEX University Training Series 2018 visited the Henan University of Economics and Law in Zhengzhou today, drawing more than 400 participants including students, entrepreneurs and financial industry professionals.
The event, the eighth stop on the training series this year, was co-hosted by Zhengzhou University, the Henan University of Economics and Law and local media.
The President of Henan University of Economics and Law Gao Xincai welcomed participants. “This year marks the 40th anniversary of China's opening up and reform. As we continue the journey, we need to have a better understanding of dynamic capital markets and keep up to date with international markets,” he told the participants. “This training workshop offered by HKEX will greatly benefit students by offering valuable perspectives on international capital markets.”
HKEX Managing Director and Chief China Economist Professor Ba Shusong gave a lecture with the theme of “Exchange - The Heart of the Modern Financial Market”, in which he explained how exchanges function and how HKEX intends to develop in the future.
Representatives from HKEX also gave a broad overview of how financial markets work, introduced the differences between various asset classes, how to manage RMB currency risks and how global commodities markets work.
The HKEX University Training Series is part of a cooperative programme with Mainland universities to introduce international financial markets to students.
