在甘肃兰州，马路上随处可见的就是随意驰骋的汽车，然而在黄河之中的却是兰州的羊皮筏子。正如它的名字所言，这种非常规的运输是由绵羊皮制成的。

怎么可能用羊皮在黄河之中漂流呢？它长什么样？它是怎么做的？这是马先生回答的问题。

马先生讲述了一个过去的羊皮筏工匠马建华的故事。通过他的眼睛，我们了解了羊皮筏子的历史，以及兰州和黄河这些年来的变化。通过他多年的经验和洞察力，我们看到他的希望和对未来的恐惧。在马先生的话语中，我们通过一个人的眼睛看到了一个家庭（包括现有的和过去未来的）和国家。

In Lanzhou, Gansu, cars can often be seenalmost haphazardly all over the roads, hidden along the Yellow River is theSheepskin raft. As its name suggests, this unconventional transport is made outof the sheep’s skin.

How is it possible that that one uses thesheep’s skin to travel across the Yellow River? How does it look? How is iteven made? These are the questions that are answered in Mr Ma.

Mr Matells the story of the last Sheepskin raftcraftsman, Ma Jianhua. Through his eyes, we learn about the history of thesheepskin raft, and how Lanzhou and the Yellow River has changed over theyears. Through his years of experience and insight, we see his hopes and fearsfor the future. In Mr Ma, we see thefamily (both immediate and extended) and the nation through the eyes of anindividual.
