各位同学大家好! 

很高兴又再见到你!周末好吗?   

上周的问卷回应中,虽然有89%的回应是猜病毒是生物，其实相信大家上网找答案的时候，已经发现病毒原来是「死物」！ 和细菌不同，病毒其实只是一个蛋白外壳，包着一条核酸（Nucleic Acid),  是没有生命的!  所以就算现在桌子上面有个SARS病毒或冠状病毒，它对我们是没有影响的！

但是病毒的一个特性，就是如果它可以进入我们的身体里面，它就可以用体内的细胞，大量繁殖，伤害我们，甚至可以杀死我们。

所以一个预防病毒最重要的原理，就是不让它进入我们的身体内！所以第二条问题的答案，戴口罩，是比洗手及用酒精清洁日用品更重要（的方法）！这是因为戴口罩是可以直接大量减少它可以从空气中进入我们的肺部。希望大家现在更加明白，防御飞沫传播的病毒，为什么我们要戴口罩了！

明天我们会看看我们的免疫系统是什么，及我们一般是如何防御病菌的，以便更深入了解戴口罩去预防冠状病毒的重要性。如果大家有兴趣，今晚也可以再上网找找人体的免疫系统是怎样的，有多少道防线？

Dear students, 

so nice in seeing you again!  Did you have a good weekend?  

In the questionnaire returns last week, though 89% of the responses guessed viruses are “Living Things”, I am sure in your internet search, you have found that they are not!They are “Non-living Things”!Indeed a virus is only a nucleic acid surrounded by a protein coat, and has no life! Thus, if there is a Corona Virus on the table in front of us, it will not harm us.  

However, viruses have a special characteristic, and that is, if they get into our body, they can use the cells in our body to multiply, and will harm and may also kill us.  

Therefore, a very important principle of protection is not to let viruses getting into our body.  Thus, the answer to the second question in the questionnaire is to wear a mask, which is more important than washing hands and using alcohol to sterilize our daily utensils, though they are important too.  This is because wearing a mask can greatly reduce the number of viruses in the air entering our lungs.  Hope now you understand why, for preventing viruses that are spread through the air, we have to wear a mask.  

Tomorrow, we will learn about our body’s immune system, and how do we protect ourselves from pathogens, to further understand the importance of wearing a mask for preventing the Corona virus.  If you are interested, please go to the web again tonight , and search for information about body defence and how many lines of defence we have got.
