亲爱的同学们、嘉人们，
大家好！
今天想跟大家聊聊体育。在西方的精英教育中，体育占据非常重要的位置，可以说是核心的内容。英国的顶尖男校伊顿公学有句名言，运动第一，学习第二。
惠灵顿公爵在打败拿破仑后说：滑铁卢战役的胜利早就赢在了伊顿公学的操场上。
在伊顿公学的网站上，关于体育课程是这样解释的：
在体育中，学会赢，也学会输；学会去领导，也学会被领导；学会超越自己的极限，也学会做团队的一员；学会什么时候去奋争，也学会什么时候去承认失败；这些，都是我们成为一个人所要学习的内容。
体育的本质就是人格的教育，在体育中包括了团队合作，坚持不懈，崇尚荣誉，体育的核心就是人格的塑造。
白岩松曾经说：体育的重要性远远比我们想象的更大，人们应当在体育中学习如何在规则的约束下去赢，和如何体面且有尊严地输。
体育不是输赢、更不仅仅是为了健康的体魄，更重要的是通过一次次跌倒、一次次失败、一次次伤痛，锻炼坚韧的品质，顽强的抗挫力、不折不挠的精神，和团队合作意识。其实这些不就是人生的经历和意义吗？

Dear Students and BIBA Family,
Today I want to talk about Physical Education. In the Western elite education, sports and Physical Education is seen as one of the most important subjects within a school. There is a famous saying at Eton College, one of the top male schools in the UK, that sports comes first and studying is second.
After defeating Napoleon, the Duke of Wellington said that the battle of waterloo was won on the playing fields of Eton.
On the website of Eton College, PE courses are explained as follows: Learning to win and lose, to lead and be led, to push oneself to and perhaps beyond one's limits, to think as part of a team, to know when to strive for more and when to acknowledge defeat; these are all part of learning to be human.
Eton College believes that the essence of sports is the education of personality, which includes teamwork, perseverance and honor. The core of sports is the molding of personality.
Bai Yansong once said: the importance of sports is far greater than we think. People should learn how to win under the constraints of rules and how to lose with dignity.
In my opinion, sports are not about winning or losing, not only for keeping of healthy physique, but for resilience, tenacity, never give up attitude, leadership, and teamwork. In fact, these are lifelong skills which will help you with your journey in education after High School where self-direction, communication, leadership, organisational skills and reflection are important.
