About the Economic Security Department

As a recognized humanitarian actor, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)  has over 150 years’ experience and expertise assisting the victims of armed conflict.

Within the ICRC, the Economic Security (EcoSec) Department’s role is to assist victims of armed conflict and violence in a timely and flexible manner in order to meet their essential needs and unavoidable expenditures in ways that are both sustainable and respectful of their dignity.

The ICRC Regional Delegation for East Asia EcoSec Department is seeking to share its experience and expertise with interested Chinese authorities.

Purpose of the Position

The resident EcoSec Programme Officer will contribute to developing the ICRC Regional Delegation for East Asia’s relationship with the Red Cross Society of China, and strengthen its dialogue with Chinese authorities, academic circles, public and private stakeholders, particularly in relation to demonstrating and sharing the ICRC’s assistance expertise.

As part of the EcoSec programme, he / she will be supporting the Red Cross Society of China implement a livelihoods project assisting some of China’s chronically poor. 

Your Profile

• University degree or equivalent.

• 4-years work experience in a similar field.

• Fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese.

• Sound knowledge of the Chinese context, and an ability to apply this knowledge to facilitating the sharing of ICRC’s experience and expertise.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver trainings and / or presentations.

• Demonstrated ability to manage data, and conduct basic statistical analyses.

• Willingness to travel, possibly frequently, within China and sometimes overseas.

物流官员(短期)

Position:  Logistics Officer

Location: Beijing

Industries: Logistics

Job Type: Short-term Contract, 6 months

Purpose of the Position

The logistics department of the ICRC Regional Delegation in Beijing is facing increased demands from internal clients in the region, and more from other ICRC delegations worldwide. Therefore, we are currently looking for a dynamic, motivated logistician to assist the Logistics Department in Beijing. 

In your role as a Logistics Officer, your main function is to provide technical / operational support in the fields of stock management, dispatch, statistics / reporting and other administrative tasks within the department. You report to the Deputy Head of Logistics Department.

Your Main Tasks

• Under the direct supervision of Deputy HoL, responsible for day-to-day running of the store for publications and promotional items and/or any other designated merchandise

• Liaising with other departments, control the reception and inspection of commodities

• Upholds good inventory standards and procedure

• Orderly dispatch of ICRC materials to different destinations

• Ensures that proper stock management, performs regular inventories and recording of the goods

• Performs other administrative tasks within the department

Your Profile

• College or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics/Supply Chain or  professional certificate in a logistics related discipline

• 2 years  work experience in a similar field

• Good command of written and spoken English

• Good  computer skills (Word, Excel, Lotus Notes)

• Confirmed capacity to adhere to general ICRC procedures

• Able to  work independently, under stressful situations to tight deadlines with  extensive working hours

• Rigorous, precise and honest with strong sense of responsibility and adaptability

• Willing  to learn
