Meet the Speakers: Executive Leadership Programme, Beijing

The first leg of CBBC's Executive Leadership Programme will take place in Beijing on 22nd September at the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB) in Wangfujing.

We are still accepting applications to join all three sessions, with the programme visiting Shanghai on 11th October and Shenzhen on 6th December, and encourage any professionals seeking to study China’s business landscape with two of the country’s most prestigious business schools, CKGSB and the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), to submit one.

CBBC’s Executive Leadership Programme has been designed in partnership with CKGSB and CEIBS – with support from our sponsor, Cambridge Assessment English – to enable senior executives from British and other multinational companies to undertake intensive study of China’s business environment, political landscape, and regulatory regime to equip them with the skills needed to lead an internationally oriented business from the mainland.

The Beijing session will focus on leveraging government relations to achieve commercial outcomes and will explore how government affairs has evolved over the last 20 years from a relatively niche industry into a mainstay of corporate operations. Through a mixture of keynote lectures, breakout workshops, and panel discussions, participants will learn:

  • How China’s broader political and regulatory environment impacts their business;

  • How to effectively raise work with government stakeholders;

  • How to develop a better understanding of government affairs across your company and its different functions.

And we are now proud to present our speakers for this session, who will share decades’ worth of research and experience with you over what will be a highly interactive and engaging session:

The school aims to cultivate transformative business leaders with a global vision, sense of social responsibility, innovative mindset, and ability to lead with empathy and compassion.

Today, CKGSB stands apart for its full-time, world-class faculty, research excellence, China insights and unparalleled alumni network. More than half of its 40 strong faculty members previously held tenure or senior professorships at top business schools, such as MIT, Wharton, and Yale. CKGSB is also the preferred choice for management education among China’s established business leaders and a new generation of disruptors. More than half of its 18,000 alumni are at the CEO or Chairman level and, collectively, they lead one fifth of China’s 100 most valuable brands.

CKGSB goes beyond the traditional boundaries of business schools to focus on the complete wealth cycle, inspiring business leaders not only to learn how to better compete and collaborate, but also to focus on why they do business and what to do with their wealth for the greater global good. The School is now fostering social innovation through the collaboration of businesses, governments, multilateral institutions, non-profit organizations and civil society, to address humanity’s most challenging and often systemic issues—like income and wealth inequality, social immobility and sustainability.
