「秋风辞」
「Song of the Autumn Wind 」 The autumn wind rises, oh! and white clouds sail the sky; Grass and leaves yellow, oh! and wild geese southward fly. Orchids and asters, oh! sweeten the chilly air; But how can I forget, oh! my lady sweet and fair! We sail pavilion boat, oh! across the river long; We reach the mid-stream, oh! and see the breakers white. The flutes are played and drums, oh! beat time to rowers’ song. But sorrow would arrive, oh! when pleasures reach their height. How long will youth endure, oh! when old age is in sight!「观沧海 」
曹操
东临碣石,以观沧海。
水何澹澹,山岛竦峙。
树木丛生,百草丰茂。
秋风萧瑟,洪波涌起。
日月之行,若出其中;
星汉灿烂,若出其里。
幸甚至哉,歌以咏志。
「The Sea」
I come to view the boundless ocean
From Stony Hill on eastern shore.
Its water rolls in rhythmic motion,
And islands stand amid its roar.
Tree on tree grows from peak to peak;
Grass on grass looks lush far and nigh.
The autumn wind blows drear and bleak;
The monstrous billows surge up high.
The sun by day, the moon by night
Appear to rise up from the deep.
The Milky Way with stars so bright
Sinks down into the sea in sleep.
How happy I feel at this sight!
I croon this poem in delight.

自古逢秋悲寂寥,我言秋日胜春朝。
晴空一鹤排云上,便引诗情到碧霄。
「Song of Autumn 」
Since olden days we feel in autumn sad and drear,
But I say spring cannot compete with autumn clear.
On a fine day a cranecleaves the clouds and soars high;
It leads the poet’s lofty mind to azure sky.

「山居秋暝 」
王维
空山新雨后,天气晚来秋。
明月松间照,清泉石上流。
竹喧归浣女,莲动下渔舟。
随意春芳歇,王孙自可留。
「Autumn Evening in the Mountains 」
After fresh rain in mountains bare;
Autumn permeates evening air.
Among pine-trees bright moonbeams peer;
Over crystal stones flows water clear.
Bamboos whisper of washer-maids;
Lotusstirs when fishing boat wades.
Though fragrant spring may pass away,
Still here’s the place for you to stay.
「Mooring by Maple Bridge At Night」At moonset cry the crow, streaking the frosty sky; Dimly lit fishing boats, neath maples sadly lie. Beyond the city wall, from Temple of Cold Hill. Bells break the ship-borne roamer's dream and midnight still. Wind blusters high in the sky and monkeys wail; Clear the islet with white sand where birds are wheeling; Everywhere the leaves fall rustling from the trees, While on for ever rolls the turbulent Yangtze. All around is autumnal gloom and I,long from home, A prey all my life to ill heath, climb the terrace alone; Hating the hardships which have frosted my hair, Sad that illness has made me give up the solace of wine.
I go by slanting stony path to the cold hill; Where rise white cloudy, there appear cottages and bowers. I stop my cab at maple woods to gaze my fill; Frost-bitten leaves look redder than early spring flowers.「Composed to Han Chuo An Officer of Yangzhou 」So dim the mountain that is green, And the flowing water that is far away. Autumn is near its end in the south And unwithered grass finds its way. When the moon that is bright, Is shining over the twenty-four bridges at night. Where is the one who is teaching the sing song girls. To play the flute, charming and slight?
「Tune: Tipsy in the Flowers' Shade 」Thin is the mist and thick the clouds, so sad I stay; From golden censer incense smokes all day. The Double Ninth comes now again; Alone I still remain In the curtain of gauze, on pillow smooth like jade, Feeling the midnight chill invade. At dusk I drink before chrysanthemums in bloom; My sleeves are filled with fragrance and with gloom. Say not my soul Is not consumed. Should western wind uproll 'Twould show a thinner face than yellow flower.「Tune: Sunny Sand Autumn Thoughts 」Over old trees wreathed with rotten vines fly evening crows; Under a small bridge near a cottage a stream flows; On ancient road in the west wind a lean horse goes. Westward declines the sun; Far, far from home is the heartbroken one.
