求职简历面试要注意哪些?

招聘经理在一份简历上仅停留几秒钟,就会决定是否让应聘者进入下一轮。无用信息会给简历扣分,甚至会让你的简历石沉大海。下面这些信息是你应该立刻从简历中删除的。


主语

If you applied, it's already obvious you want the job.
如果你投递了简历,很明显是你想要这份工作。


多个电话号码

Amanda Augustine, a career expert for TopResume, suggests including only one phone number on your resume, ideally your cell phone.
TopResume网站职业专家阿曼达·奥古斯丁建议,简历中只留一个电话号码,最好是手机号码。


内容冗余

If you're using a 0.5-inch margin and eight-point font in an effort to get everything to fit on one page, consider it an "epic fail," says J.T. O'Donnell, founder of career advice site Careerealism.com.

She recommends lots of white space and no more than a 0.8 margin.

短暂的工作经历

Avoid including a job on your resume if you only held the position for a short period of time, Alyssa Gelbard, founder of career consulting firm Resume Strategists says. You should especially avoid including jobs you were let go from or didn't like.

Never describe past work experience using the present tense. Only your current job should be written in the present tense, Gelbard says.

离职原因

Candidates often think, "If I explain why I left the position on my resume, maybe my chances will improve."
应聘者常常会想,“如果在简历上阐述离职原因,也许提高简历通过机会。”


In reality, doing so is "irrelevant". Instead, use your interview to address this.
事实上,这样做是“无意义的”。相反,在面试中阐述这一点。


成绩

Once you're out of school, your grades aren't nearly as relevant anymore.
一旦离开学校,你的成绩就不再那么重要了。


If you're a new college graduate and your GPA was a 3.8 or higher, it's okay to leave it. But, if you're more than three years out of school, or if your GPA was lower than a 3.8, ditch it.
如果你是一名刚毕业的大学生,且GPA在3.8以上,那么可以写在简历上。但是,如果你离开学校超过三年,或者GPA低于3.8,那么不要写。


工作成就

Don't just say you accomplished X, Y, or Z — show it by quantifying the facts.

For instance, instead of saying, "Grew revenues," try saying, "X project resulted in an Y% increase in revenues."
例如,不要说“增加收入”,而是说“X项目增收Y%”。

1. Whatever you do, don’t lie.

Daniel Space, a human resources consultant, said that if you can’t draw from personal experience to answer a question, it’s alright to say something like, “I haven’t been placed in that situation specifically yet, but here’s how I think I would handle it.”

人力资源顾问丹尼尔·斯佩斯说,如果你没有相关的个人经历可谈,你可以这样说:“我还没有遇到过这种情况,但是我认为我会这样处理……”


The biggest mistake he sees is when candidates attempt to lie instead of acknowledging what they don’t know.

2. Don’t ramble and hope for the best. If you don’t understand what they’re asking, request clarification.

不要东拉西扯,如果听不懂考官的问题可以问清楚


Rambling is the worst mistake a job candidate can make when they don’t know how to answer, according to Mary Abbajay, president of the leadership development consultancy Careerstone Group.

领导力发展咨询公司Careerstone 集团总裁玛丽·阿巴杰认为,求职者在不知道怎么回答时东拉西扯是最糟的。


"They think if they talk long enough ... people will think they are answering the questions. Don’t do that,” she said. “When you are rambling, it shows you are a poor communicator.”

Lawrese Brown, the founder of C-Track Training, a workplace education company, pointed out that not all interview questions are clearly worded and it reflects better on you to ask for clarification when you need it.

"It demonstrates a confidence and assertiveness to say, ‘Hey, can you clarify? ... Because I want to share the right insights with you, I want to share the most relevant information,’” she said.

Asking for the question to be repeated might also buy you time to think of an answer, Abbajay added.

3. Don’t give up and just say “I don’t know,” either. Advocate for the person you are.

不要直接说“不知道”,说说自己的优势


It’s OK to admit you have not yet acquired a specific skill or faced a certain problem, said Tejal Wagadia, a recruiter for a major tech company. But don’t just say “I don’t know” when you are stumped. Saying something like, “I don’t know that yet, but I’m willing to learn that skillset,” shows your willingness to learn new things, Wagadia said.

一家大型科技公司的招聘人员特贾尔·瓦加迪亚说,你可以承认自己尚未掌握某项技能或存在某个问题,但是你在答不上来的时候不要只说“不知道”。瓦加迪亚说,你可以说“我对此还不了解,但是我愿意学习这一技能”,以此表明你学习新事物的意愿。


“Redirect your answer and share how the skills you’ve gained in another capacity have prepared for the target opportunity,” said Ashley Watkins, a job search coach.

You Didn't Do Your Homework

It is critical to understand the company business, intention, history and mission. It is not uncommon for an executive to start out testing an interviewee with, ‘Tell me what you know about our company and what we do.’ If you didn’t take the time to research the company you are interviewing with, this could be a red flag to your interviewer.

You Didn't Send a Thank You Email

A timely, polite follow-up after the interview can go a long way. Always send a thank you email to your interviewer within 24 hours. You should thank the person for their time, reiterate your interest in the role, and perhaps let the person know you were thinking about a specific challenge that the role may present and thought of different approaches that you might consider in addressing the challenge.

面试结束后及时发一封礼貌的感谢函对你很有帮助。一定要在24小时内将感谢函发给考官。你应该感谢考官抽出宝贵时间,重申你对该职位的兴趣,也可以分享一下你对这个职位可能提出的某个挑战的想法,以及你考虑到的不同应对办法。


You Didn't Prepare Meaningful Questions

When your interviewer asks if you have questions for them, this is still part of the interview.Sophisticated interviewers will judge you by the quality of the questions you ask. You should be prepared with a series of questions for the interviewers. Have them written down on a pad and get at least three to four questions out with each interviewer. Be sure the questions are addressing the role, the challenges with the role, why it is open and how it will impact the person you are interviewing with.

Recruiters want to know the person is interested in their company, the role and, in general, interested in other people. If you seemed unenthusiastic, avoided eye contact, were unprepared or didn’t ask meaningful questions, this could indicate a lack of interest to your interviewer.

考官期待应聘者对他们的公司、这个职位以及公司其他成员都有兴趣。如果你表现得缺少热情,避免眼神接触,没做准备或没提出有意义的问题,在你的考官看来就是没兴趣。


You Asked About Salary, Benefits or Time Off During an Initial Interview

初次面试就询问薪水、福利或休假


While it’s OK to ask these questions when you are further along in the interview process, you should not bring up these topics during the initial interview. During a first interview, the relationship has not progressed far enough to ask these questions, which come across as presumptuous. The time-off question comes across as not wanting to work hard.

尽管在面试过程中后期可以询问这些问题,但你不应该在初次面试中就提这些话题。在初次面试时,双方的关系还没到可以问这种问题的程度,如果你这时候提出来,会让人感觉很冒昧。关于休假的问题会给人你不想努力干活的印象。


You Spoke Poorly About Your Former Workplace

Speaking poorly about former employers or managers could be a red flag for recruiters. There is a fine line between providing legitimate reasons for leaving a company — such as a change in leadership — and openly bad-mouthing a former manager or employer.

讲前雇主或前主管的坏话会让考官反感。说明离开上一家公司的正当理由(比如领导层变动)和公开批评前主管或前雇主之间只有一线之差。


You Pretended To Know About a Topic You Don't Actually Know About

不懂装懂


It is better to say ‘I’m not familiar with that,’ and then provide examples from their past on their continuous learning, appetite for being trained and engaging with new concepts, etc., than to pretend they know about a subject they don’t. Honesty is the best policy. No one knows it all.

和不懂装懂相比,坦言自己不熟悉某项业务,然后表示自己可以不断学习并举例证明,同时表示愿意接受培训和接触新观念,这样做会更好。诚实才是上策。没有人能无所不知。


You Didn't Effectively Relate Your Experience to the Needs of the Current Position

你述说的工作经验和这一职位不相关


You must explain how your previous experience qualifies you for the open position. Interviewees that studied the position’s responsibilities and duties and relate their experience, achievements and answers to the position’s requirements show they are motivated and detail-oriented, most importantly, make it very simple for the interviewer to understand how quickly the interviewee will be able to hit the ground running and positively fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

你必须解释过往的经历如何让你具备了胜任这一职位的资格。深入了解职位的责任义务并在回答考官时将自己的经验、成就与职位相匹配表明这位面试者积极性高且注重细节,最重要的是,让考官很容易就能了解面试者可以多快投入工作和真正履行职责。


Your Salary Expectations Are Too High

你对薪酬的期待值过高


If you’ve made it to the point in the interview process when it’s appropriate to discuss salary, be sure your expectations are in line with other salaries for the given role. You may not get a call back if your salary asks are above what the company is willing to pay — even if you’re qualified for the role. If you really need the job, make sure to compromise and be content with the initial offer that they can give you.

如果你到了面试过程中适合讨论薪酬的环节,你要确保你期望的薪酬和从事该职位的其他人的薪酬相一致。如果你要求的薪酬高于公司愿意支付的水平,即使你适合该职位,你也可能收不到回音。如果你真的需要这份工作,一定要做出让步,并接受对方最初提出的薪酬。


You Are Under- or Overqualified

You might be beaten to the post by a more qualified applicant. On the other hand, you could be overqualified, causing decision-makers to assume that you will soon move on or demand a higher salary.

你可能被资质更好的应聘者打败。不过,你也可能资历过高,导致决策者认为你很快会跳槽或要求加薪。
