We are now looking for a new Editor to join our beijingkids team (http://www.beijing-kids.com).
The Editor contributes regularly to the magazine and digital sites, and stays in close contact with schools, hospitals, after school programs, and other community organizations to ensure that beijingkids is always the first to know about International Education, High Quality Medical Services, and other community happenings.
Additionally, the editor will be heavily involved with the community, and represents the brand and the company at events.
Job Responsibilities:
□ Writes content for the magazine and online platforms, including assigned sections.
□ Works with the Managing Editor (and Deputy) to delegate other content
to writers and interns. Ensures that their work is returned in a timely
and efficient manner.
□ Proofreads and formats the assigned content.
□ Work with the Managing Editor to establish the SOPs.
□ Keeps in close contact and conducts regular visits to important organizations and pitches in the planning meetings.
□ Represents the brand and company when attending client and community
events, takes photos, and write content. Gathers regular feedback from
readers.
□ Trains the Editorial Assistant and Interns with the support from the Managing Editor (and Deputy).
□ Attends company meetings as required.
Job Requirements:
□ Education background: Bachelor's (preferably in journalism, English, communications, social media management, etc.)
□ Has excellent English skills
□ Demonstrated writing and editing experience
□ Commitment to and passion for the city of Beijing
□ Highly professional and able to work to deadline
□ Reliable and consistent
Bonus points if you:
□ Have previous work experience with children, the education industry or in media
□ Have previous experience working with social media
□ Are a parent
