Learning Frontier Personalized Support for Children & Families

At the beginning of this school year, the Learning Frontier offered free workshops to parents about early childhood developmental milestones and how to help their children become productive learners. With more than 200 parents in attendance, their goal is to reach out to more schools and families in Beijing to raise awareness and provide support for the community.

Besides therapeutic services, the Learning Frontier recently launched a new skill-building course, called "POWER Learner" to target executive functional skills for elementary and secondary students. It is designed by a team of psychologists and mental health counselors to teach students to improve concentration, working memory, mental flexibility, self-control, time management, planning, and overall executive functioning skills. By using a mix of direct instruction and hands-on learning, students will learn strategies for self-management and increasing their motivation for learning with individualized support.

The Learning Frontier is a multidisciplinary therapy center under YueCheng Education, established in September 2017, dedicated to providing a full range of personalized guidance and support services for children and families. Their core services include psycho-educational assessments, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, behavior analysis, and mental health counseling working as a multidisciplinary team providing individualized support for every child in need to achieve essential abilities and skills in their learning and developmental journey. They consider each child as a unique individual with their personal strengths and weaknesses. Their goal is to promote whole-person development through the multidisciplinary approach and tailored services.

At the Learning Frontier, specialists across different disciplines and countries work closely together in a professionally and culturally diverse setting providing bilingual services and support. All specialists have gained rich working experience from international educational and clinical settings, with doctoral and master's degrees, and internationally recognized professional qualifications. Since its inception, they have helped hundreds of children of different ages and needs, and collaborate with their parents and teachers to witness the progress and growth of each child. The Learning Frontier has established cooperative relations with all the major international schools across Beijing.

Since launching in 2017, the Learning Frontier has organized a series of parents and educators workshops on topics of parenting strategies, child development, classroom management strategies, and also provided tailored training and workshops to a number of schools for their staff's professional development. Outside the classroom, the team has designed and provided a variety of enrichment activities for children to promote their social-emotional and communication skills.
