Breakfast for Dinner? Yes, Please at the Silk Road Night Brunch

I have a lot of teacher friends who work weekends. Whether they are educators at an activity center or coaches and theatre directors with practices and rehearsals on the weekends, it can be difficult to line our schedules up. Worse still, I often feel like they are left out of many weekend activities such as clubs and brunches. So when a fellow educator and I stopped into Union at The Opposite House for a cocktail after her class, only to discover that they now have a Silk Road Night Brunch, we quickly called up a few of our weekend working colleagues and set a brunch date…in the evening.
Here’s the deal:
It’s RMB 598 for two people, and that includes two hours of free flow and five dishes from their set Silk Road menu.
Between the four of us, we tried all the cocktails, which were creative and well-balanced. My favorite was the Golden Darius Sour while my friends were partial to the Merchants Spritz.
Truth be told, however, though the portions were large, the food was good but not exceptional. We enjoyed the Pinsetta San Daniele and the lamb kebab, as well as the tiramisu, but the beef tartar and the seabass ceviche left a little to be desired.
Nevertheless, the whole experience is well worth the value, and in a beautiful environment to boot, and I will definitely be going back with more of my weekend warrior friends. Night Brunch is available every Friday and Saturday starting at 6pm.
