There’s no introduction needed. Hot pot is just delicious no matter how you like to eat it! And, it’s also surprisingly baby-friendly. No, seriously! While putting a boiling pot of broth next to your baby goes against every fiber of your parental instincts, if you’re safe about it, cooking up a variety of delicious foods right at the table is fun for both you and your little one. I introduced my daughter to her first hot pot dinner at 1-month-old, and we haven’t stopped hot potting together since.
Here are a few of the best hot pot deals in town!
Cafe Royal at the Nuo Resort Universal Beijing
The restaurant smelled of hot pot broth and while their a la carte menu is available everyday, the majority of their diners were there for the unlimited hot pot.
There are four broth bases to choose from and everyone gets their own pot so it’s nice and sanitary, just how we like it. The veggies and seafood are laid out on buffet tables and guests can help themselves to as many rounds as they like. For meats, they have unlimited beef and lamb slices that waiters bring to the table. They’ve also included beer, wine, juice, and soda in their free-flow price so literally everything is covered.

Winter Garden at Grand Mercure Hotel Dongcheng
A day spent in the hutongs should end with some hot pot. The Winter Garden has no fuss, no muss hot pot sets that are made up of all the local favorites.
Also prepared in individual pots for sanitation, they have a choice of tomato-based or mushroom-based broths to not only indulge in but also take photos of. Their broth is presented as a cute frozen teddy bear that melts into a tasty meal right in front of your eyes. A bit twisted? Maybe. But it’s ever so entertaining…
Amongst local hot pot connoisseurs, Winter Garden is known for its high-quality tender lamb and beef slices from Inner Mongolia.
A hot pot set for two is more than enough to satisfy hungry foodies on any cold winter night.
