I know, kids don't really eat anyway, but for mini foodies, here are a few restaurants in Beijing where kids get to eat for free!

Feast (Food by East) ✦

Feast offers semi-buffet brunch, lunch, and dinners throughout the week. While prices vary for adults, they've got a blanket deal for kids that applies to everything they do, which makes it easy for parents to know how much they'll end up spending.

For kids under 12 years, all of Feast's semi-buffets are half price. For kids six and under, they're completely free. And don't forget, Feast has an amazing kids' play area in the back that'll keep the little ones entertained for ages while the grownups wine and dine.

Amazing Thai ✦

The Amazing Thai in Solana has fantastic Thai dishes and a staff that's extra careful to attend to the comfort and safety of tiny kids. I especially appreciate how every time I go there with my 1.5-year-old, the waitress makes extra effort to rearrange the table so that nothing is within the grasp of her tiny digits, especially the dishes that come with a lit tea candle under the plate.

Amazing Thai offers free kids sets to any kid (or parent) that requests it, regardless of age. It's a simple set that includes millet congee, a steamed bun, some shrimp and veggies, and a bit of fruit.

Ajisen Ramen ✦

Ajisen Ramen is like the 7-11 of ramen noodles in Beijing; they've got over 30 branches all over the city. It's not the greatest ramen you've ever had in your life, but for the price, it's not bad at all!

My daughter is only 1.5 years old, and she really likes eating plain noodles so if your kid is like her, this one's good for a quick lunch when you're out and about. Every Ajisen has the option to add unlimited portions of ramen noodles to your meal for free.

Just to test out exactly how far I could push it, I ordered a take out delivery of just the free noodles at the Ajisen Ramen in Solana (we've listed the address for that branch below). While their waitress admitted that she's actually never had anyone do this before, they were super easygoing about it and said it was no problem at all. I was charged RMB 1 for the takeaway box that the noodles came in and that was it.

Annie's ✦

We get so used to ordering Annie's at home that I hope I'm not alone in forgetting that Annie's doesn't only do fast deliveries — they also have actual restaurants all over the city.

When kids go to Annie's they can ask the staff for a little DIY pizza kit. It comes with a bit of pizza dough, sauce and cheese. They make their own pizzas at the table and the restaurant will fire them up for the kids to eat. Super fun!
