Okay, so it's not exactly like Black Friday in the US where it only happens once a year, but the upcoming 618 e-shopping holiday is one of China's many, many shopping holidays.

When will the next foray of shopping euphoria begin, you ask? June 18, otherwise known as 618, is the founding day of the online shopping platform JD. JD celebrates this day by hosting massive sales across all of the categories on their website, with products ranging from socks to screens being marked down considerably while discount vouchers are handed out like candy.

Of course, JD doesn’t get all the fun. Essentially every online shopping platform is trying to get their hands on the 618 pie.

So what's on discount?

Everything you can think of! From clothes to food, daily essentials, electronics, and furniture. Whatever you've been thinking of buying in the past few months, chances are there's someone selling it at seriously discounted prices. Most platforms have added a 618 tab on their homepage to make it extra easy for you to sift through the biggest discounts on their platform.

Does 618 mean I can only buy discounted stuff on June 18?

Not at all! The 618 sale has been going on for over a month now, but there are certain sellers that will only ship out your purchases on or after June 18.

So, as the next big online shopping holiday approaches, load up your shopping cart and get ready to get some goodies at a major discount.
