Fun Kid-Friendly Events To Visit Before Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is less than two weeks away and we can’t wait to see what our favorite fam-friendly places will offer this holiday season. Some have already come out with their mouth-watering menus, and while you're waiting to indulge in a gourmet weekend at one of the many local bars, hotels and restaurants, here are a few events coming in November that you can guiltlessly enjoy without packing on those holiday pounds.
Teamlab Massless
Art Exhibition
Becoming part of the artwork and understanding how alive the world around us really is is the main idea behind this awesome exhibition. There are floating clouds you can walk through, an infinite crystal universe to experience, and typhoon light balls that continuously move and change color when pushed by another light ball. One of the really awesome parts of the showcase is the Sketch Ocean exhibit, where visitors get to color in a fish on a paper and see it swim out into the ocean with fish drawn by other people! Tickets for the Teamlab Massless interactive exhibition can be purchased for RMB 99, and are free for kids under 2. The exhibit will run from Nov 19 until Dec 31 at Chaoyang Joy City.

Family Forbidden City
Scavenger Hunt
Explore the grounds of the Forbidden City in yet another fun event organized by Our Beijing. The Scavenger Hunt will take place on Nov 19, and if you need a motivator to get the whole family out to enjoy a crisp Beijing day out, now you have one. Tickets can be purchased for RMB 310 for 1 adult, RMB 350 for 1 adult + 1 child, RMB 450 for 2 adults + 1 child, and RMB 500 for 2 adults + 2 children.

Autumn's Fairytale
Art Exhbition
This special art exhibition, organized by our local inclusive learning center Auesome Place, will showcase artwork by neurodiverse persons who share its core values. There will also be hands-on calligraphy coloring activities and kid-friendly performances at the opening ceremony on Nov 19.

Hike: Gubeikou Great Wall
and Adventure Playground
Beijing Hikers will be organizing two kid-friendly hikes this November. The first one on Nov 12 will start with a climb up to the 24-Eyes Tower and finishing with a look at some of the Great Wall towers on the west side of the big North Gate. The price is RMB 460 (RMB 415 for members) and RMB 180 for kids under 12. The price includes lunch at a countryside restaurant.
If you have really young children, the slow-paced hiked on Nov 19 should be your choice. You’ll walk on the middle part of the Gubeikou Great Wall, finishing with free time at the Gubeikou adventure playground, where the kids can pay while you chat the afternoon away with other parents. The price for this hike is RMB 400 (RMB 360 for members), RMB 200 for kids 6-18, and RMB 150 for kids aged 4 and 5. Departure is at 7.30am from the Liangmaqiao subway area and 8am from the Lido Metropark Hotel Starbucks.
