If you’re looking for a fun afternoon with your family then I would consider going to Pacowhys graphic novel art exhibition.

Why you should go

This exhibition is becoming the perfect place to take your kids to introduce them to art.

Pacowhy art style is colorful and full of energy and this exhibition exudes just that. Rather than going to Louvre-like experiences this case-free environment allows your kids to organically enter the world of art. Considering the inspiration for this gallery is the visuals in graphic novels, it’s one out of a-thousand theme. As an artist and consumer, this theme is something very unusual. Often time people call inspiration from past experiences but Pacowhy does this all while introducing new topics.

Graphic novels are the most popular form of book for young children. with this in mind, I think your kids would be enthused and excited to see these pieces outside the pages of a book.

Located inside the 798 art district, you can find many cafes and restaurants to try, making a visit to Pacowhys exhibition an all-day family event.

If you’re looking for classic Chinese food you can head down to Shenji restaurant, or if you looking for something sweet you can try Bolaery Desert House. There are also multiple other galleries you can visit alongside Pacowhys. And best of all it’s free!!!

He uses a multitude of mediums, oil paint, charcoal, graphite, pastels, and more. Combining aspects of real life and combining them with fiction. These pieces are simply the bare minimum of what artist Pacowhy has to offer. Looking at the opposite side of his artistic spectrum (the more maximalist side) we see the piece “the way to find me”. Defying initial expectations by changing the size of the creatures and their looks. He places a cat with tiger stripes near the bottom of the canvas. reflection on this specific work he states that “Time passes, and as you grow up, you become a tiger. As time passes, as you grow up, you become a cat. Yes, what’s important is the potential it has.”

The exhibition

The exhibition started on May 13 and is ongoing until June 20. Hosted at the Commons Art Center, Pacowhys art solo art exhibition ” Pacowhys graphic novels”, includes finding your identity, comic strips, a gold card, the Rabbit of 2023, and the Tiger of 2022.

The theme showcases the visual aesthetics illustrators use when creating graphic novels. This exhibition is also co-created by QuChen Xu (a trend art curator), and visual label manager Li Jiamu from modern sky MVM. This is Pacowhy’s second solo art exhibition following a successful one in Hong Kong. Even though he’s an up-and-coming artist these successes do not go unnoticed.
