Man’s rectum falls out after 30 minutes on the toilet

In a cautionary tale for us all, a man in Guangdong province recently sat on a toilet, playing games on his mobile phone while trying to defecate, until, finally, his rectum fell out.

Just after midnight on February 4th, the unfortunate young man was rushed to a hospital in Guangzhou with a lump, about 16 centimeters in diameter, hanging from his anus, reports Knews. Doctors quickly determined that it was the man’s rectum.

One of the doctors who operated on the man told reporters that the patient had suffered from rectal prolapse ever since he was 4 years old. His condition had never been treated. While the “lump” had protruded before, it had always retracted back.

However, that fateful night, the man had sat on the toilet for 30 minutes, playing games on his mobile phone to pass the time, causing the prolapse.

Surgeons were able to remove the lump and the man is reported to be recovering from the operation.
