Tourist sites greet 287million visitors over first 4 days of CNY
The Chinese New Year continues to be a time of reconnecting with your family members as you team up to push your way through endless, hellish crowds.
During the first four days of this year’s week-long Spring Festival holiday, tourist sites around China have welcomed a whopping 287 million visitors. That’s up 11.1% from the same period last year, when a mere 258 million visitors were greeted.
And it’s led to a 11.6% rise in tourism revenue, up to 352.7 billion yuan ($55.61 billion) in just those four days.
Of course, the holiday is still far from over with an estimated 385 million tourists in total expected to visit scenic spots in the country over the holiday week before it’s all said and done.
As usual, Hangzhou’s West Lake has been one of the more popular spots for taking in a little rest and relaxation:
Others have gone to the beach in Sanya for some fun in the sun:
And still others have experienced the wonders of Shanghai’s “Old City.”
