Dude 'castrates' himself after girlfriend says he's ‘too small’

Rumors are running wild today on WeChat that a Guangzhou college student cut off his own penis after a messy fight with his girlfriend.

Videos and photos have circulated around Chinese social media showing a young man calmly walking around the campus of Guangdong Peizheng College in Guangzhou wearing only a t-shirt and nothing else below with dried blood covering his legs.

The college has released a brief statement confirming that on Tuesday at around 2 pm, a student did hurt himself inside his dorm room. After being notified about what happened, school administrators say that they quickly rushed the student to the hospital.

The student was described as being in a sober state of mind. However, the school said that it is not clear why he decided to hurt himself and did not describe the injury.

The college also urged fellow students not to circulate any photos, videos, or rumors regarding the incident, but that hasn’t stopped online gossip from running wild.

In one WeChat conversation screencap that has garnered particular attention, it is alleged that the student castrated himself after a messy breakup in which his girlfriend dumped him, saying that he was “too small.”
