Invisible hand 看不见的手：18世纪英国经济学家亚当·斯密（1723-1790），1776年在《国富论》中提出的命题。

1）CO 指 corona（冠状）2）VI 指 virus（病毒）3）D 指 disease（疾病），4）虽然没有解释数字19的含义，但应该表示爆发的时间——2019年。

It is not covid-19 that has trapped¹ merchant² seamen³ on their ships. It is official⁴ indifference⁵ 不是covid-19将商船水手困在船上。而是官方冷漠将商人海员困在了船上

词汇

1、Trap /træp/  V. 使困住;使受限制

工作怎么说？

Job，Career，Occupation，Vocation，work

Job”是最简单和使用最广泛的“工作”；

vocation用作强调，表示一个真正能带来使命感的又很适合我们的职业；

career表示职业；

occupation 表示“工作，职业”的正式用语，在填写各类正式表格时，“职业”一栏相对应的英文就是“occupation”。

4、official adj. 官方的；正式的；公务的n. 官员；公务员；高级职员

- The country's official language is Spanish. 这个国家的官方语言为西班牙语。（adj）

-An official pushed through the throng. 一位官员从人群中挤过。(n)

5、indifference /ɪn'dɪf(ə)r(ə)ns/ n,缺乏兴趣，漠不关心

=lack of interest or concern 缺乏兴趣；漠不关心

后面跟的介词一般都是 to

-Their father treated them with indifference. 他们的父亲对他们漠不关心。

-His apparent indifference to material luxuries. 他对物质享受明显缺乏兴趣.

短语、句型、长难句

【It is not covid-19 that has trapped merchant seamen on their ships. It is official indifference 】这是一个强调句，不是…而是…（强调官员的冷漠）

怎么样来判断一个句子是不是强调句呢？

如果把这种句型中的句型结构部分(It is/was...that/who...)划掉后，是一个完整无缺的句子即是强调句。

那咱们这句话，去掉这些部分，改成简单句子怎么改？

- Covid-19 that has not trapped merchant seamen on their ships, official indifference does.(不是…，而是…)

这一句话，是用强调结构来强调：

“it is (was)+被强调成分+that (who)+其他”

虚拟语气——表示说话人所说的话不是事实，而是一种假设、愿望、怀疑或推测。

将来事实相反，表达的是一种推测，这个事情将来可能会发生，但是目前还没有发生。
